They all felt horrible in your hands, and would break constantly. I distinctly remember going through several for the PS2 and Gamecube. One of the Gamecube ones even had the coating on the side begin to leak some sort of fluid, so I guess it was chemically separating or something.Anything MadCatz, dear God those were awful
I think it's absolutely meant for the example you mentioned, as well as motion control party games and stuff like that. I like that it's an option, but I'd personally never attempt it. The left one would be virtually impossible to use like that.Speaking of which, have any of you tried to play a Switch game with one Joy-Con?

It's horrible. The right one is at least a little more comfortable if you're used to stretching your thumb for a PlayStation controller, but it still feels very out-of-balance.
I guess it's strictly for kids who just wanna play Mario Kart together and mom doesn't wanna drop another $80 on another set of Joy-Cons, but it'd give me hand cramps to try and play anything seriously for longer than like 15 minutes.
