Aside from Arthur being molested and humiliated. What else do you think made this movie unwatchable?

Who the fuck thought making it a musical was a good idea?
A fucking musical!? Only fags and hags watch that nonce faggotry.
Todd phillips and jaqiun pheonix should fuck each other to death for that level of gayness.
This.

A musical is not a movie. At least not one I want to watch. It is painful how contrived it makes things.

I don't think there is any way you can make a musical into a good movie. It's either one or the other.

Musical numbers often break the immersion of movies to me and kinda makes the characters break the fourth wall. Unless the movie's plot is about theater and the musical numbers taking place in a theater, characters suddenly singing about their dilemmas is annoying.

Time to move onto other characters, Joker has been beaten to death. I like what HBO is doing with The Penguin, and I'm invested in it. The enterprise has far more villain characters that just need proper build up and development for us to be engaged in.

Most of the musical numbers in Joker 2 happen inside Joker's fantasies. So it doesn't break immersion that much.

a microcosm of why 90 percent of all so called "art" sucks now, some twerp taps into something universal, a mistreated outcast who the world shuns and isnt made for .... but oh no that applies more so to my ideological enemies vs myself! so they get rid of that element that connected with people because some of them did wrongthink about it and youre now left with basically the first movie except arthur fleck thinks actually its good hes excluded as a mentally ill white man and its a good thing the system fucked him up the ass.

leaving no one to relate to the movie because the thing that the wrongthinkers took away from it was supposed to be a universal hook. like uglying up female characters youre left with nothing for anyone to spite the "male gaze". their entire being and all their ideas have led them to an inherently anti-humanity stance that bleds into the turds they shit out and no one watches it

They didn't take note from Jesus christ superstar. They didn't tap intot he jazzy vibe they were seemingly going for in the trailers. The scenes in the trailers weren't even used in the final movie for the most part and when they did the context was changed. There were apperently countless rewrites behind the scenes.I'm honestly surprised people are making the musical aspect it's biggest failing when it got announced as a musical 2 fucking years back and people were kinda vaguely interested by the idea but the current year eternal wipes all memory every lunar cycle i guess.

I have a feeling at some point it might have been good but then something went very very wrong and it became about "subverting expectations" and "teaching the fans a lesson" or some shit. It'd be cool seeing a movie about joker somehow winning a court case despite all the shit he inadvertently caused in the first movie and shooting murray. The dangers of people viewing you as a political symbol despite none of your motivations or existence being even involved in politics could have also been tapped into instead of trying to frame the rando fanboys as deranged crazy guys analogous to the fans of the first movie.

Also the music could have actually been done well and not solely been in daydream sequences.

the movie being a musical for one. it could have been *WAY* better if it had went into the backstory of how harley quinn came to be, and potentially set the stage for a series of movies that would potentially give us backstories of other villians, in the same way they did the first joker movie.

Instead we got the slop that was a musical masquerading as a movie.
