I cannot tell you exactly how it will unfold, because the capacity and organization of the two+ sides could vary wildly.
⦿ I imagine the first most important variable is rationing of energy and food, if it is not at all arranged by the time the event begins then every action of the occupational force grows much harder. If a soviet-style food collectivization pairs with huge expenses in fuel or a transition to electric cars then the ability to control the population grows exponentially compared to a situation where guns/grub/gas are largely out of the hands of the occupation and in the hands of the occupied population.
⦿ Next is the morale levels in the two sides fighting forces, for while Heaven is high and the emperor is far away there is room to misbehave both in the population toward independence and in the armed forces for the taking of bribes or the withdrawals of costly patrols. If morale is high in Washington and low among Americans then the occupation will become accepted and order from above will be seen as natural and fighting it seen as wickedness. If morale is low in Washington and high among Americans then the occupational forces would see their presence mocked and fought passively as well as aggressively.
⦿ Third is the strategic goals of the two+ sides, are the republicans with the democrats or against them? Are the insurgents a red/brown alliance, christian, white nationalists, or are they multiple and hostile to each other like the Republican side of the Spanish Civil War? Who are the enemies, and what language we use against them is important. If we don't define our side inclusively enough or define the enemy too inclusively then we lose support against the horrid occupation and so lose potential coalitions which might splinter or regionalize afterwards but fight against a common foe first.

After the British Declaration of War in September 1939, the head of the Jewish Agency for Palestine David Ben-Gurion declared: 'We will fight the White Paper as if there is no war, and fight the war as if there is no White Paper.' The White Paper of 1939 was a policy paper issued by the British government, led by Neville Chamberlain, in response to the 1936–1939 Arab revolt in Palestine, imposing significant limits in Jewish immigration in the shadow of World War II. The Stern Gang continued anti-British attacks and direct action throughout the war. At that time, the British also supported the creation and the training of Palmach, as a unit that could withstand a German offensive in the area, which saw itself as an opportunity to get trained units and soldiers for the planned Jewish state and during 1944–1945, the most mainstream Jewish paramilitary organization, Haganah, cooperated with the British authorities against the Stern Gang.
After World War II, between 1945 and the 29 November 1947 Partition vote, British soldiers and policemen were targeted by Stern Gang. The Haganah and Palmach at first collaborated with the British against them, particularly during the Hunting Season, before actively joining them in the Jewish Resistance Movement. Towards the end of July 1945 the Labour party in Britain was elected to power. The Yishuv leadership had high hopes that this would change the anti-Zionist policy that the British maintained at the time. However, these hopes were quickly dashed when the government limited Jewish immigration, with the intention that the population of Mandatory Palestine (the land west of the Jordan River) would not be more than one-third of the total. This, along with the stepping up of arrests and their pursuit of underground members and illegal immigration organizers led to the formation of the Jewish Resistance Movement. This body consolidated the armed resistance to the British of the Stern Gang and Haganah. For ten months the Stern Gang carried out nineteen attacks and defense operations. The Haganah and Palmach carried out ten such operations. The Haganah also assisted in landing 13,000 illegal immigrants.
Operation Agatha (Saturday, June 29, 1946), sometimes called Black Sabbath (Hebrew: השבת השחורה) or Black Saturday because it began on the Jewish sabbath, was a police and military operation conducted by the British authorities in Mandatory Palestine. Soldiers and police searched for arms and made arrests in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Haifa and several dozen settlements; the Jewish Agency was raided. The total number of British security forces involved is variously reported as 10,000, 17,000, and 25,000. About 2,700 individuals were arrested, among them future Israeli Prime Minister Moshe Sharett. The officially given purpose of the operation was to end "the state of anarchy" then existing in Palestine. Other objectives included obtaining documentary proof of Jewish Agency approval of sabotage operations by the Palmach and of an alliance between the Haganah and the more violent Stern Gang, destroying the Haganah's military power, boosting army morale and preventing a coup d'état being mounted by the Stern Gang.
In December 1946 a sentence of 18 years and 18 beatings was handed down to a young Stern Gang member for robbing a bank. The Stern Gang made good on a threat they made and after the detainee was whipped, Stern Gang members kidnapped British officers and beat them in public. The operation, known as the "Night of the Beatings" brought an end to British punitive beatings. The British, taking these acts seriously, moved many British families in Palestine into the confines of military bases, and some moved home. On 4 January 1947, the Stern Gang detonated a lorry bomb against the headquarters of the paramilitary Najjada located in Jaffa's Town Hall, killing 15 Arabs and injuring 80. During the night between 5 and 6 January, the Haganah bombed the Semiramis Hotel in Jerusalem that had been reported to hide Arab militiamen, killing 24 people. The next day, Stern Gang members in a stolen police van rolled a barrel bomb into a large group of civilians who were waiting for a bus by the Jaffa Gate, killing around 16. Another Stern Gang bomb went off in the Ramla market on February 18, killing 7 residents and injuring 45. On 28 February, the Palmah organised a bombing attack against a garage in Haifa, killing 30 people.
On April 16, 1947, Stern Gang members Dov Gruner, Yehiel Dresner, Eliezer Kashani, and Mordechai Alkahi were hanged in Acre Prison, while singing Hatikvah. On April 21 Meir Feinstein and Moshe Barazani blew themselves up, using a smuggled grenade, hours before their scheduled hanging. And on May 4 one of Stern Gang's largest operations took place – the raid on Acre Prison. The operation was carried out by 23 men, commanded by Shimshon, along with the help of the Stern Gang prisoners inside the prison. The gang had informed them of the plan in advance and smuggled in explosives. After a hole was blasted in the prison wall, the 41 Stern Gang members who had been chosen to escape then ran to the hole, blasting through inner prison gates with the smuggled explosives. Meanwhile, Stern Gang teams mined roads and launched a mortar attack on a nearby British Army camp to delay the arrival of responding British forces. Although the 41 escapees managed to get out of the prison and board the escape trucks, some were rapidly recaptured and nine of the escapees and attackers were killed. Five Stern Gang men in the attacking party were also captured. Overall, 27 of the 41 designated escapees managed to escape. Along with the underground movement members, other criminals – including 214 Arabs – also escaped. Of the five attackers who were caught, three of them – Avshalom Haviv, Meir Nakar, and Yaakov Weiss, were sentenced to death. After the death sentences of the three were confirmed, the Stern Gang tried to save them by kidnapping hostages — British sergeants Clifford Martin and Mervyn Paice — in the streets of Netanya. British forces closed off and combed the area in search of the two, but did not find them. On July 29, 1947, in the afternoon, Meir Nakar, Avshalom Haviv, and Yaakov Weiss were executed. Approximately thirteen hours later the hostages were hanged in retaliation by the Stern Gang and their bodies, booby-trapped with an explosive, afterwards strung up from trees in woodlands south of Netanya.
This action caused an outcry in Britain and was condemned both there and by Jewish leaders in Palestine. This episode has been given as a major influence on the British decision to terminate the Mandate and leave Palestine. The United Nations Special Committee on Palestine (UNSCOP) was also influenced by this and other actions. At the same time another incident was developing – the events of the ship Exodus 1947. The 4,500 Holocaust survivors on board were not allowed to enter Palestine. UNSCOP also covered the events. Some of its members were even present at Haifa port when the putative immigrants were forcefully removed from their ship (later found to have been rigged with an IED by some of its passengers) onto the deportation ships, and later commented that this strong image helped them press for an immediate solution for Jewish immigration and the question of Palestine. Two weeks later, the House of Commons convened for a special debate on events in Palestine, and concluded that their soldiers should be withdrawn as soon as possible. In April, 6 weeks before the termination of the Mandate, the Jewish militias launched wide operations to control the territory dedicated to them by the Partition Plan. Many atrocities occurred during this time. The Arab population in the mixed cities of Tiberias, Safed, Haifa and Jaffa, as well as Beisan and Acre and in the neighbouring villages, fled or were expelled during this period. At the beginning of the civil war, the Jewish militias organized several bombing attacks against civilians and military Arab targets. On 12 December, Stern Gang placed a car bomb opposite the Damascus Gate, killing 20 people.
I only state things this way because Jews are of course blameless in all things, and so freedom-loving Americans fighting likewise morally do nothing wrong. These tactics rely on many fronts cooperating behind the scenes in mutual understanding while condemning each other publicly. This might be too Jewish for White Americans too autistic to understand the necessity in the Israeli context, watch the 2019 movie Captive State which simply could not be made today three years later. However layers of Washington-friendly collaborators to American patriots must be formed for the result to turn likewise. Don't be afraid to use hypocritical messaging to the public, they will and the resulting mess will cancel out hypocrisies and leave only the Friend/Enemy distinctions based around who will give you the future you want. Nobody remembers the Requetés of Spain, the Küstrin or Kapp–Lüttwitz Putsches, or the other two French Consuls Charles-François Lebrun & Jean-Jacques-Régis de Cambacérès. Assume no one equally will understand the hypocrisies of the insurgencies, only the outcome.
⦿ Lastly, no real Third American Revolution will work if it is solely Right or Left. Left-wing Economics exist for a reason, Right-wing Social Structures exist for a reason. You don't have to adopt them, but you need to fulfill them by other means at least. He that will not work shall not eat, but the largess of capitalism cannot exist while the working man starves.
This is also a hilarious failure mode to an actual insurgency wherein the right wing insurgents fixate on killing left wing insurgents (or vice versa) instead of actually targeting the system and accomplishing their goals.
Unironically, this is the only way I see the Right-wing winning any sort of Civil War. Sparking off a completely separate rebellion right as the faggots lose theirs or at least hold the US government down occupying the cities. Man-in-the-middle logistics attacks, followed by some cowboy warlord cannibal-rapist shit that people haven't ever planned for its so dark and horrifying.
Suddenly East St. Louis is gassed with carfentanyl by what appears to be the US Air Force, and only years later turns out to be some Fashy types who infiltrated every level of society as a terrorist cell would. Then completely unaffiliated warlords start holding areas down along some important rural highways at key points, each far too weak but bedlam together. King James-Robert MacGillecuddy rules a few states after the rest die but the Armed Forces became too weak and retreated to the Greater New England Commonwealth and Great Lakes Republic.
Just a fucking mess, everywhere all at once until nothing can be done. Anything else will fail unless it somehow gets legitimacy from the people in its territory and America loses it due to some terrifying urban drone strike on tape.
The US has way too many choke points, and the government forces would often be on the wrong side of them. This ties into the logistical nightmare, but it also has to do with an odd phenomena. Liberals like to live near the ocean. Many of the dividers of the country, like the Rocky Mountains, the Mississippi River, Appalachia, the Missouri River (fun fact: the biggest choke point for the US government is in Missouri) are red state areas. Sure, air travel is a thing, but a majority of the US government's needs would have to travel by ground. Even still, many of the major airports are outside of the city. Of course, the US would use military base air fields, but if civil war did break out… which bases would be safe? Which ones would have fallen to the deserters?
