I'd just be direct and ask them to show their discord/social media logs, and if there isn't anything, their browser history.

After that I'd just tell them to stop treating internet people like irl friends and go outside, promising those feelings of "gender dysphoria" will disappear and they'd avoid a bunch of headache and heartbreak roleplaying as the opposite gender.

One cause can be friend groups, sometime they push that shit to be "different" and if you don't also hop on what ever train they are on, then you will be pushed out of that friend group. You can replace troon with pretty much any trend, but got to distil into kids that it is okay to lose friends and friends who make you change like that, aren't real friends or worth having.

Asides from that its been clinically proven that Lithium and anti psychotics along with hormone therapy to increase testosterone or estrogen depending on the sex will completely wipe out so called "gender dysphoria".
