WhatifAltHist / Rudyard Lynch - History youtuber, galaxy brained, no credentials and no sex

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
He might be reading some comparative religious stuff, but that’s a field that’s more specialized than Rudyard normally reads imo. This man revels in only reading pop-history and only that. If he was to get exposed to comparative religion it would almost certainly be limited to stuff like Deus pater to Jupiter/Zeus connections. Maybe throw indra and in there too since iirc he has a weird worship of Indian spirituality.
His interest is sincere. He's like a victim of circumstance, because he's said that growing up as a Quaker was his springboard into Jordan Peterson and Jung. In the original 'Spirit World' video, he says that Hudson Smith is one of his favorite authors, singling out the 200 page Forgotten Truth as a favorite (33:30). Smith was close to Ram Dass if that means anything to you.

I've always been interested by his appropriation of the Axial Age concept https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Axial_Age. This was a periodization thought up by somebody older than Spengler, that has been reinvented many times over by people trying to falsify a cause. The story goes that all of the major religious and philosophical movements happened in Europe and Asia at the same time and all reached comparable conclusions. We don't know why. Karl Jaspers never said when he pitched the concept. Rudyard actually picked all this up from David Graeber, who used to be a visible leftist intellectual. He was a libertarian socialist, anarchist if you prefer, and Rudyard read his two best selling works, Bullshit Jobs and Debt: The First 5000 Years. Bullshit Jobs was a big influence on this video about economics.
Debt is a book about money, debt, and the history of thinking of money and debt. Chapter Nine covers the Axial Age. Graeber suspects that B.C. ascetic movements were inspired by alienation from coinage, then a recent technology. Rudyard did a whole podcast about it, and it's just an unrigorous talk about syncretism.
To be clear, Debt: The First 5000 Years is not meant to be an academic work. The first chapter explains that it's really supposed to be a history of anarchy, because Graeber thought his friends needed a history lesson. It wouldn't be a great primary source. However, I've noticed Rudyard quoting this book literally word for word. In Spirit World, he talks about "Buddhist and Hindu holy men" at 10:44, which he took from page 224.

Almost done with the first part. Guy seems very autistic and mentally un-well. His mom (if we take everything he said about her as fact) seems extremely unhinge and mentally unstable. Dont have kids in your late thirties/forties.
I reviewed his mother's and sister's Facebook profiles, and they appear to be ordinary individuals with no unusual online presence. I'm currently focusing on locating his father. So far, I've found a video featuring Mark Lynch, a banker.

I think he blames feminism and socialism/communism on his parents divorce and his incel'ness. Rudy essentially wants an enslaved woman to iron his shirts

That's a historically inaccurate account with no academic backing. It's poor history masquerading as philosophical aesthetics. Rudy claims to be a "YouTube historian" but hasn't read any academic-backed textbook since high school. He uses ahistoricism to push his reflexive political beliefs, which are partly rooted in his own lack of self-esteem.

I'm kind of pretentious with this post but the kid is a moron. I do vow the 14 incel words for Rudy though

I don’t doubt his interest is sincere, it’s his methods that I find objectionable. Especially his methods for choosing sources. I’ll echo what @antipsychotic enthusiast just said.

Rudy purposely eschews more specialized and more recent sources, because he’s skeptical of the modern university and academia. But that’s a big problem for more specialized fields like pre-historic cultures such as the Indo-Europeans. A great deal of the evidence that underlies the current theories depends on very recent evidence. Genetics for example is huge in that field. But Rudy misses out on all that because he chooses to ignore it. And in addition to seriously challenging his claims of being an empiricist, that means he’s objectively uninformed on the topics he’s touching on. Which is what I was more getting at with my comment.

Now, to be clear, I don’t think Rudy needs to be pouring over every single academic journal and doing Masters or PHD thesis level research and review on his videos. Not every history related YouTuber needs to be a Stefan Milo type. But as is WIAH is a poor man’s Graham Hancock, but even crazier. And that in no small part can be chocked up to his source selection.

Between the time in LA and tuna fish induced insemination from dear old dad it might not even be without syphilis
But syphilis can't be, because we have antibiotics that can cure that.
He went to the stoner shaman path with ayahuasca and the shit he was drinking while doing those videos... what it is the name of that shit? Cratum? I read that shit is like hallucinatory and could induce an schizo episode (I wrote it right?, it is an schizo or a schizo?, I am not native English speaker), probably he isn't sleeping because his PTSD, maybe it was triggered and since then he can't sleep, doing then the fight club path. The fap club to achieve masturbatory power with wotan.

Finally listening to the PTSD segment and holy hell.

"I went through unknowable suffering that the human race does not have language to describe, everyone on the face of the planet was against me and didn't understand me. I was only able to survive because I buried myself in my work where I made 300k a year, drove luxuary cars, dated instagram models, ran through thots at the club (7/10 experience tbh), traveled to every amazing site there is to see in all of the world, broke bread with the wholesome natives of the middle east, who treated me not as Rudyard, but as a human. I learned the value of God and family. From there I realized the hollowness of live and decided to stop being a rich, dick slanging chad, and moved to the famously humble conservative country town of Austin, Texas and I've come to teach you how to become God....also ceiling fans fucking terrify me."

I can see why he wants to cope that this is satire, good lord. This is only the first 20 minutes.

One hour into part two. It started off rather chill him just talking about his time travelling, living in LA (call it the city of degeneracy as it deserves) and how he almost asked the CIA to help Lord milles when he was "imprisoned" by the Taliban. The best part was when he called CRT (Couch red pill) a traitor to America.

Then it all started going out of control with him saying he was raped by not just his mother, but his sister as well (Contraction, he raped his sister not the other way around). the way he says "mommy" was very creepy when telling the story and he almost had a breakdown crying. this is when you start asking if it all happened or if the Ayahuasca effect is doing the talking. Will have to listen more tomorrow.

Almost done with part 2. Him talking about Odin and YAHWEH in third person was kinda trippy and makes me laugh thinking all knowing gods would ever use the word "kid" when talking to him. Real schizo shit. He says porn is immoral but then he faps to Instagram photos and paintings from Asia while also making a list of all women he faps to beacuse "god asked him too". Is Rudyard an incel? a long strech of the video was him complaining about women not wanting to follow gender roles and call women selfish for not wanting iron shirts beacuse his terrible at it.

I do think he brings out some good points about western society being too materialistic and selfish and thats caused alot of young people being angry and resentful towards society and the older generation.

Interestingly, according to Rudyard himself, Celts are supposed to be fascists, nationalists, democratic socialists or hardline Catholics.

From around 16:25

He also claims that in these cultures only the first son gets any inheritance, while the rest most become warriors or monks and became aggressive and stubborn. His mother is partly celtic herself. His father is an Irish nationalist and apparently their family still practices a lot of Irish culture 200 years after emigrating.
And his father instilled a view in Rudyard that he was responsible for the honor of the family.

wholesome natives of the middle east
How we know that was all bullshit

A thought suddenly occured to me - one of Rudy's mentors and best friends, someone he cites in a lot of his videos, is a gentleman named Curt Doolittle. He invented the political triangle or some shit - it's like that political quadrant graph everyone always posts but "better".

If you're like me and suffering the early stages of dementia you might be wondering why that name is so familiar...

He learned a lot from Doolittle in how to publicly humiliate yourself, it seems.
The stream if anyone is interested. Timestamps in video description

"I wish there was a Texas in the North, but all the similar states there are too Germanic and don't have the entrepreneurial cavalier Celtic warrior spirit that makes Texas so successful."

Reasons Montana isn't as successful as Texas:

-Low population?
-No ports?

Nope. Those got damn Germans. The thing that really gets me about this is if you're from Texas, German descendants are literally everywhere. I'd argue there's probably more German influence in Texas than Irish, particularly in Rudy's area. Unless he just means we embody the "Celtic warrior spirit," either way that is massively retarded. I think Rudyard really embodies everything wrong with the exodus to Texas. If I had a nickel for every CEO tech bro in the Austin city limits that treats Austin as a small Southern town I'd be fucking loaded.

I have come across guys like Rudy on other parts of the Internet. They bemoan the fact that we no longer live in a society where men derive their worth from things such as honor, heritage, morals, rank, standing etc... I can feel sympathetic to that mindset since I've also been brought up with a sense of family honor and heritage, but I can also suspect that their resentment is rooted in a lack of self-esteem.

Men like this have a very hard time understanding a concept of a person's worth as something unconnected to merit and status.

(Edit: accidental double negation removed)

Well adjusted hwhite men with families who try their damndest to cultivate honor, success and heritage will exhort others to do the same from time to time, but they are nowhere near as loud as people like Rudyard, who want to rest on their ancestor’s laurels while they foppishly wave swords around in front of a camera.

Shades of Chris talking about his Cherokean background.

One of the German towns even has its own decent website. Fredericksburg.
From Wikipedia - Texas German is even its own dialect :
"While most heritage languages in the United States die out by the third generation, Texas German is unusual in that most German Texans continued to speak German in their homes and communities for several generations after settling in the state. The State of Texas recognized German as having equal status to Spanish from 1846 up until World War I. "
There also seems to be a bunch of other travel sites specializing in showing German heritage in Texas.

A lot of his critics like Fredda [yea i know he's some sort of retarded urban leftist or commie but most of his points still stand due to his training] have shown how he doesn't even bother to do the most cursory of searches on the topics he speaks about. He really fancies himself some sort of e-shaman even before all this ayahuasca and kratom nonsense. He's always been nuts.

The drugs just compressed all that nuttery to release in one spastic psychotic break. He just has one theory in his mind that he makes up based off some vibes and keeps worldbuilding around that. And it's not even beautiful like some sort of autistic sci-fi universe or anything, its just plain ass. Its all smug and pretentious in a "revenge nerd" guy type of way.

I'm a native texan of both germanic and potato nigger blood, and can't agree more. I'd say these tourists are ruining the state, but its had an issue with an invasion of spicy farm tools for longer than I've been around to notice. Funny thing is, people like ruddy are the exact type who will scream about texas secession as if the state wouldn't immediately be swallowed up by mexico. You'll never see that sperg on the frontlines.
