Out of curiosity, do you know from skimming if any of the people on the writing team for this are linked to that situation? Would be funny if so.

For a moment I forgot that the whole reason SCP went into the shitter was over someone's shitty self-insert homestuck OC that they disguised as an SCP entry to trick people into reading their trashfiction.

In retrospect people made a way bigger deal than it ever actually was. The main SCP stuff ended up never getting to the cringe tier that the entire concept of RPC Authority was. It's one thing to laugh at the doofy OC self-insert and another to be endlessly triggered by the free speech of hte gays and the fact that some self-insert existed as an SCP, when literally any and everybody can make an SCP.

IT SPAWNED A SEQUEL!

I'm glad that Homestuck's legacy is being shit on so thorougly because it means someone can steal all of the good elements, develop a geniune following, and not get called a rip-off for it because all people remember now is gay aliens and Tumblrdrone haha funnies.

Dirk:
"As you know, I have many splinters. So many, I used to find it overwhelming to contemplate them all. Depressing, actually. It was a feeling I could never escape from. The feeling that my sense of self was limitless. That I was forced to exist as a small facet of my own potential, while drowning in an ocean of my greater persona, and all the terrible things I was fully capable of. I was trapped as a limited version of myself who was still burdened by the concern for what it meant to be good, struggling to keep himself from drowning in an overwhelming body of potential which had no concern for human morality whatsoever.

But that struggle finally ended a few years ago. My head isn't fighting to stay above the water anymore. There isn't even a metaphorical head to speak of. I'm only the water now.
It's proven to be an immensely comforting way for me to exist. It reminds me of the feelings I had during long nights alone, looking out over the dark ocean which surrounded me. The ocean that effectively raised me, because nothing else was around to do it. During those lonely nights I spent many hours wondering what would happen, what would even be the difference, if I jumped in and never came up. If I simply disappeared.

But now I finally have. I've disappeared into the infinity of myself. And I am... magnificent."

For anyone who's interested: It seems like Dirk, the homo weeb that killed himself in order to control the narrative of Homestuck, is now the official antagonist of the sequel. It seems like they're trying to play it out that all this time he was some sort of sociopath or something and that he's now "free" from morality and doing the right thing.

To avoid double post.
I am so tired of this shit. Why even keep going with this dead horse? Homestuck had it's run. It peaked in 2012 and Hussie legitimately killed the fandom with the hiatuses and the silence from the Kickstarter. Why is he now trying to resurface a sinking ship that he himself was who shot it down? I'm optimistic that this won't last long going by the very empty goals concerning the updates.

Thanks for ruining Dirk now too. One of the few characters left unscathed now SCATHED.

It’s sort of a contradiction because way back in Act 6 he’s some gay dude who self-destructive and then now he’s an sociopathic being who now almost controls the entire plot

Something I always wondered, how did Homestuck turn so many kids transgender?
The comic specifically appealed to fucking losers that could only fit in with weebs and furries. People like that troon out easy as fuck, and the fandom was almost exclusive to tumblr, a website that gave them only negative feedback for being the boring white girls they were. The fandom was mostly very young at that time as well, thus very easily influenced.
