What's the best way to control a video game?

Depends on the game. An RTS or FPS is usually going to control better with KB+M. A platformer or beat 'em up is usually best played with a controller. A game made with touch controls or motion controls in mind will be best played the way it was intended. I cannot imagine playing The World Ends with You on anything but a touch screen-based device.

Do you also eat soup with a knife because it's more challenging?

I've done this with ice cream on accident once, but it was a fork. Not a knife. It was doable.

Controller, and it's not even close. Motion controls are a distant second if done right, and touch is fine for certain genres.

- Keyboard and mouse for FPS, RTS, etc. (PC only or focused games)
- Controller (XBox/PS/etc.) for 3rd person fighting/melee (Souls, Yakuza, Monster Hunter) and sports/racing games (Madden, Wresting games, Forza)

Keyboard and mouse for anything first person or RPGs, RTSes, anything where there's a lot of menu bullshittery or you need to do a lot of actions and selecting of units, etc.

Controller for fighting games, third person action or platformers
