The GOP was ackchually on the brink of total annihilation if it wasn’t for Dave Brat winning a surprise primary victory against Eric Cantor. Brat’s victory scared the GOP into temporarily aligning themselves as a more populist party. Remember the Gang of 8 and how excited Marco Rubio and Lindsey Graham were in introducing an amnesty bill? Good times.

That’s all gone now. Losing support of the Reagan Democrats and rust belt independents but gaining just a little in minorities and women is going to have the GOP chase after them harder than a cat chases a laser. Like the laser, this promised land is never going to be there so they will suffer a series of humiliating defeats but that means they haven’t chased the laser hard enough.

It will come to a head when they run Haley and Rubio as a ticket, leading to an utter annihilation not seen since 1988. From there, we’ll see if the Grand Old Party even exists.
1. GOP didn't gain with non-whites, at least overall, Trump depressed the non-white vote in 2016 and they returned the Bush levels.
2. Marco Rubio will only get the nomination if Cruz doesn't run in 2024. Cruz was the 2nd best in 2016 so there is 0 reason to think he wouldn't outright win the nomination in 2024. Cruz-Haley is a more likely situation.
3. The only way I see a 1988 annihilation is if 1) Amnesty is passed or 2) the 2024 platform is the same as the 2008 or 2012 platform. If they even run on an alt-light platform, e.g. talking about social media censorship, then the map will look similar to the 2008 or 2020. Voters are too polarized for landslide elections.

Now that it's very clear fraud is the norm, the GOP won't ever see the presidency again unless they're chosen to be.

(but why would they ever choose the GOP for anything, Jeb?)

Whenever they want to destroy another country in the name of McDemocracy, they will let some neocon worm in to take the blame + energize the dem voter base with the usual "he's literally Hitler" shit.

White Pill: Even if the GOP tomorrow became a heckin' based America First/National Justice/ /pol/-type party, they'd still be opposed by ~65 million Americans. Even with complete government control, you can't fix a nation when that number of people is brainwashed.

~Accelerationist Gang

What's the point of acceleration when you said it yourself that even with a literal nazi government in total control, it would be opposed by a huge chunk of America.

Purge the vast majority of the one-trick ponies in the GOP and replace them with competent people with conservative/libertarian values. The GOP is absolutely useless and behind unless there’s a massive overhaul of the people in the party. People who are smarter and can debate better and can argue to death.

That’s just me being too optimistic, though.

Whatever the Dems tell them to, then pretend not to like it then shrug and say "we tried".

There's no room in politics for what the American people want. Media/tech/Hollywood/specific pro sports/Capitol Hill's needs are all that matter now.

I do think it's possible for a populist party to emerge but it will take a long time for it to make any inroads.

Edit: that sounded more doomer than I intended. There are a lot more people who are realizing what's going on now. @Secret Asshole and @SmugAutist are right about the necessity for a machine. Trump skipped that part and that's why he is where he is. Although I can't blame him completely--it's disgusting how deep and wide the swamp is.

Well, assuming the fraud succeeds, the GOP needs to fight the fraud at the state level in places like MI, PA, WI, GA, AZ, NV and other states where the dems were especially blatant with their bullshit. I don't share the doomer opinions of other people on here regarding the GOP's chances, but electoral fraud must be fought and defeated if Repubs want to win elections going forward.

they'll look at the current political climate, conclude that reanimating reagan's corpse is the best course of action and assume that he will receive a completely fair and fraudless election while they shit themselves and do nothing

The Uniparty will Sandbag to keep Joe in place on the golden throne until his second term is up, even if that means keeping him on life support and having an "acting" President. Then the uniparty will sandbag with a RINO like McCain to install Harris for eight years, and in 2032, the Republican strategy will be "we extend our deepest congratulations to Chelsea Clinton in becoming the 48th President of the United States of America". 2040 will likely see AOC ascend the throne.

The GOP element of the uniparty exists to placate the public into believing they have a choice when really they don't. They exist solely to be humble losers and a smokescreen to keep the people fighting among themselves instead of paying attention to what's really going on.

They'll do more to reach out to hispanics and blacks. I doubt the white working class will never be mentioned again in politics, other than to be strawman for democrats
We'll probably see a trans republican running for federal in 2024 (The democrats are the real bigots)
