What's the worst case scenario with all this harddrive business?

worst case scenario is probably that some court seizes teh drives that contain the forums backups, and orders a forensic examination of it all

Just like a computer, it means the data on the drives is gone, hopefully there is a backup not in the rack. The biggest difference between a computer and a server when it comes to hard drives is a server has something like a NAS with a bunch of drives and parallels to back up and such.
