What's with the shared room situation?

I maybe didn't get a facebook update or something, but i've been hearing how Charb has been sharing room. Why did he lose his room and his privacy?
A slightly unrelated note: what are q-sands? again, I just jumped into the forum after abandoning it for a couple months because class got heavy.

Barb moved Chris in with her because she's fucking insane. She knows she has no one else in the world, and she's worried Chris will either sneak away from her, or get arrested doing stupid shit. So she ministers him 24/7 and never lets him out longer than he needs to be.

Anyway, in regards to the OP post, according to Alec and/or Marvin (who more or less have some contact with Chris under different identities or something like that) Barb has decided recently to sleep in the same bed with Chris or constantly stay in his room and watch him for most of the time or something like that. It's not completely clear why she does it, but it is seems to me like it has to do with emotional dependence or something like that. IIRC, according to the post Marvin wrote on the subject Barb's watching of Chris is not completely constant and OPL does a get some brief breaks from it.

I think it's a combination of two factors.

1. Bob's death has made Barb fear for her own mortality. She doesn't want to die anytime soon, so she's forcing Chris to keep a watch on her so she won't die due to something preventable.

2. Her separation anxiety issues (evidenced by her hoarding) went critical after Bob's death and the October 28th incident (specifically, the moment the cops moved to cuff Chris). She's tried explaining to Chris that things like the attraction signs don't work--except his brain didn't translate "Sell yourself like a new car" to "People will think you are trying to prostitute yourself". Attempting to convince Chris to not be a moron was too much stress, so Barb took the path of least resistance and just banned Chris from leaving the house for any reason.

I think some long lost item of food combined with old came to life from being exposed to autism radiation for years and kicked Chris out taking his room for it's own. It then merged with the hoard giving it life as well. Chris and Barb have to stay in the same room all the time, as this is what space the hoard allowes them, with Chris venturing out to feed the hoard and to spread autism radiation to other piles of garbage around town.

If OPL is successful in creating another living garbage pile then the original hoard will have a "Sweetpile From The Shopping Isle" of it's very own to breed with. After that, well, I hate to think of what comes next but I fear that by the time Charlottesville gets this message it will be too late.
