TIL that fish have scales (though some don’t as well).

What are some other fun animal facts?

Elephants mourn the dead and can even recognize them from bones. They also sometimes do the same with human remains.

The true king of the jungle...how could anyone ever want to kill one of these sentient creatures for goddamn piano keys or magic dick pills.
Some species of jellyfish are immortal.

Elephants think humans are cute. Brain scans on them have indicated that when seeing a human, their analogous brain regions are activated as when a human sees something like puppies or kittens.

Starfish do not have brains (which is why Patrick Star is so dumb).

Possums (opossum) groom themselves so meticulously that they are able to pull off 99% of the ticks that attach to their skin. They are so good at it, in fact, that they significantly decrease the amount of ticks found in the wild around the areas they live. Having a family of possums in your vicinity means the tick population there is much lower than it would be if they weren’t there. Every time I see a dead possum on the side of the road all I think is “well fuck now we have more ticks.”

Our ability to move every finger individually is actually our brain having a suppressing "mechanism" for the signals to all other fingers. So when you move just one finger what actually happens is that you start to give the signal to move all fingers on the same hand but then suppress those that are not the wanted finger. (ofc iirc)
