When did "communities" come to represent identities?

Way back when, you wouldn't refer to communities as anything other than neighborhoods. You would refer to different people as "black people" or "filthy trannys" or what have you. The only similar syntax in the past would be referring to "the Asian community" or "the gay community" but that's because they were usually a neighborhood/political bloc. Now it's "the capital-B Black community" or "the trans community" aka people who have nothing in common besides superficial traits and their judicial sentences. But how does White Fragility intersect with MAGA in any way besides skin color? No one would make that assumption. Who dares to talk about "the white community" and how dumb that idea sounds? God forbid "the capital-W White community."

When did this habit begin and does anyone see a turnaround in the future?

Ok ok. If you want to identify as being on the list, you can. You are all honorary members of the listed community. So far no one has been such a retard as the premier member and I hope no one is as stupid.

There's been a few honest responses to the op and I thank all of you for engaging. I didn't originally think this was just a shitposting forum so please help prove me right. Nice getting some actual formed opinions.

Alternatively keep adding yourselves to the list, I'll pass it on to Satan once I hit the afterlife. It might be a while though.
Got it.
@Just A Butt has set the bar for being an annoying faggot and we all must try to work our way up to his level.
I’ll try my best, sir.

In order to fundamentally change the US, you need to implement change. The fastest way is to join people under a common goal to overthrow the proletariat.

These two sentences are an abortion of language and logic. They read like they were written by an AI programme with an extra chromosome. You have truly excelled yourself in being absolutely fucking useless.

Everyone has been shuffled into one or more groups now. You are expected to tow the line of said group. If you don't then you are a bad person. Even if you don't feel like you are a part of group X, if you skin color, gender, sexual orientation ect... match then you better conform to that hivemind.

And when everyone is divided they have less of a chance to work together. So problems that affect a wide spectrum of groups, such as poverty, get filed under race instead. It fits the narrative better and makes for more clickable outrage porn.

And that's why we never get anything useful done. The world isn't a better place because we are all being told that Group A has it better than Group B and that's why Group B can't get ahead. When really it's about a wide range of social and economical issues affecting multiple groups at once. It's all just a big game of divide and conquer.

"Birds of a feather, flock together" is the origin of this phenomenon. "Dont judge a book by it's cover" was the phrase to dismantle it, but people are lazy. Why should I try to get to know people when I could make an assumption about a person's life and personality?
