Yeah, probably when I realized that I had lost all interest in pop culture. As a teenager, I used to think it was weird that people my parents' age had no idea who the big music artists of the day was. They didn't care about keeping up with the latest trends, didn't care about the most recent blockbusters, and had no idea about current tv shows. I considered them pathologically unaware of what was going on in the world around them and felt a little embarrassed on their behalf. Now, I am that pathologically unaware person. I don't know shit about who's winning Oscars, top the billboards, or what the fuck TikTok is all about. And I couldn't care less.

once I realize some popular things I don't really get. I'm not that old, but random shit confuses me. for example, a shit ton of modern music is shit to me. modern rap sounds so fuckin' bad anymore, but slightly younger people love it. like people who are two years younger than me have a completely different taste than me. a few months ago, I took my best friend to hot topic since she really wanted to go. I got so confused with all the random styles and items with random "memes" on it. the "aesthetic" styles looked so shitty and artificial that I couldn't believe people buy it. a shitty tie-dye shirt with misspelled words in katakana really sells? lol ffs
This whole post is a vibe.

Dumb example: I frequently read the dictionary for fun at ages 10-11
Santa Claus: "An Imaginary character.

Me: Santa Claus isn't real.
Made a 4-year old mad when I said it.

Ok, but that's kind of an unreasonable comparison, both those people in your example are British.

31 year old English ginger vs. 49 year old American Star Trek bitch boy
