Chris seems to be taking the cwcki forum calling him ugly pretty seriously, and nothing that Anna or the dipshits said helped change his opinion. Maybe it's just for this specific topic, but I think he's pretty worried about the potential that he's ugly. He's been worrying about this for awhile and Anna hasn't done shit to change it.

That's gotta be pretty jarring for him. One, he's believed for years that he was a paragon of manly beauty (or at least did for most of his young life, there's been hints of his confidence waning in the past few years), but two, he is predisposed to do nothing whenever he has any problem... if he accepts that he is objectively ugly, and he also faithfully assumes that he can do nothing about it but wait for someone else to fix it, how would that feel to him? Mary McLerran recently suggested he just get a shorter haircut and work with that, his response was a big babyish "NO", showing that even when he expects other people to provide solutions, he doesn't even want to consider any on the rare occasion that he gets them.

What he's just done is worry about potentially being ugly and try to get his facebook friends to assuage his worries. But even though he gets some asspats, they're not really helping him feel better. Chris is normally pretty quick to believe bullshit, if they're asspats, but I'm pretty confident he's not believing this bullshit.

It's not that it was in his imagination, but more that trolls did all that. It's not the same thing as Chris himself initiating those situations. Plus, there is a big difference between tangible obligations and ones that have only talked to Chris over the internet. Internet girls are more hypothetical than IRL girls. You're overestimating the significance of the identity of "trolled Chris." Chris really doesn't think about his trolled self as a separate, important person. Eventually, one gets to the point where you become convinced that what your opponent says is true, however, it may be that Chris just found it easier to process visual information from the graph, as opposed to reading what people had to say on the thread. Especially since the votes are anonymous, and don't have any of our names tied to those specific opinions, he might have seen it as more neutral than the thread contents.
