Also funny story about Romania. Ceaușescu outlawed abortion completely in Romania, where previously it was a form of birth control. This lead to massive unemployment as the population skyrocketed. University students experienced no jobs and shitty conditions. When they protested, Ceaușescu gunned a lot of them up. This resulted in massive protests, leading to riots and the resulting revolution lead to Ceaușescu being killed by the very people who would have been aborted, if he hadn't outlawed abortion. Karma works in funny ways).
I've heard that its communications infrastructure is pretty advanced compared to its neighbours, another part of its high quality of life.Estonia. It had the best standard of living in the USSR, and the islands are stunningly beautiful.
I would assume Vietnam doesn't count as Eastern Bloc. I'm gonna be boring and say either Czechoslovakia like everyone else on the thread or Estonia.Czechoslovakia. I’m part Czech and spoke it well as a child but forgot all of it. Yugoslavia would be cool too before the death of Tito. Nowadays maybe Viet Nam.

Any answer other than Czechoslovakia is wrong. The only way any other would be preferable is if you're a tankie.
„Én szerintem Magyarországon, semmiféle értelemben nincs válság”
Loptad a hatalmat, éltél félelemben,
Ritka féreg voltál a történelemben,
Vágóhidra vitted a saját nemzeted,
Ember voltál te bolsevik látlelet.
Tele a börtönök, mutass kíméletet,
Csökkentsd a sok koholt ítéletet,
Könyörögni hozzád, jó magyarok jöttek,
A válaszod az volt: „akasszatok többet!”

Kutya ugasson, a karaván haladjon,
Dögöljön meg mind, csak a jani, maradjon,
De a kutya ugasson, a karaván haladjon,
Dögöljön meg mind, csak a jani maradjon!
Neked te áruló, friss sírhely jutott,
Miközben sok magyar, idegenbe futott,
Vagy jeltelen sírban alussza álmát,
Fejfát sem kaptak, nemhogy márványtáblát!
Áldásos munkádat megköszönjük neked,
A csőcselék ma is emlegeti neved,
Huszadik század legnagyobb magyarja,
Szellemed a szart még ma is kavarja!
Rákfene voltál, ki kell irtani,
Szavazó bandádat pedig kitiltani,
Száműzni őket innen a pokolba,
Onnan kiabálják: „bár maradtál volna!”

In other words, Ceausescu's Romania was a nationwide Potemkin village.Yugoslavia, hopefully near the Mediterranean beaches.
We always envied them in Romania during the commie era, they came and sold products here, as a child, what they brought was paradise-like. Their TV could be caught over the border, and it alone was in another class, we had only one state TV station that ended each night at 8PM or so in patriotic hymns and it was full commie propaganda. Literally nobody watched it, and everyone knew it was a lie, if you think media distrust in high in the West, should've seen the distrust in the late 80s in Romania. Everyone lied and everyone knew everyone lies. All was fake, the industry numbers, the population statistics, the full store shelves seen on TV, the number of buildings constructed, the cars being built. Apples and fruit on stands at Ceausescu's inspections were often props to look better. Diplomas were fake.
