Which Sciences are Real and which are Quackery?

From life experience I can say Astronomy, Paleontology, Geology, physics, and planetary science are mostly real.

That's what I heard: "hard science" is reproducible, "soft science" has a reproducibility issue.

And that's before The Cult of Progress gets in there and tries to "cancel" any dissenting views.

I don't believe that our modern scientific fields are intrinsically bullshit. The problem is that we live in the age of neo-Lysenkoist nonsense where scientific findings must conform to ideology, reality be damned.

This is how we got the six gorillion genders, redefinition of a vaccine, scientific stagnation and so on.

Call it quantifiable vs qualifiable.

To quantify something, it has to be measurable. It has to have a standard unit. There needs to be a rationale that explains the standard unit.

Like, dude, you could attach a fucking electrode and actually measure the strength of the electrochemical signals that ARE pain, and that would be quantified.

Or you can draw fucking faces, which is qualified.

That latter seems less like its meant for the scientists, and more like its something meant for like, patients--especially young patients--who are being asked "how much does it hurt?" and are unable to express it any more clearly than by pointing at a certain face.

Like if I were a five year old experiencing a strange pain, I would find it easier to relate to the cartoon faces than to have to learn a whole measurement system.

..... Or maybe this is all a cope and real scientists actually do put cartoon faces on their research papers, I dunno, and it would not surprise me. I basically don't trust anything I read.

I have been given that exact chart, faces and all, any time I've been to a chiropractor or the local clinic when I had kidney infection. And I'm old enough to remember the Cold War.

Experts are just humans like rest of us. They can be bribed, be (political) activists, make simple mistake, bow to outside pressure etc... And every scientific field already has established power structures universities, journals ... That can and will promote or suppress people and research they want.
So worship of science and scientists as flawless , incapable of being wrong that developed during coof is cringe.
