It is my opinion (probably because I am old) that the term white knight is more about championing a cause than aiding a woman in distress.

If the person defending someone is a White Knight, then what does that make people like us? The peasants who throw shit at the carraige as it passes?

(I can't wait for someone to make up their own edgy definition of a Black Knight that's as cringy as Teddy Beale's Sigma Male identity.)
