They are the other side of the same rotten coin that social justice warriors are on. Glorifying murderous dictators, creatively re-writing history wherever it suits them and racist as fuck. And, like social justice warriors, most of the people on Stormfront hate being called racist when they obviously are. And then there's that minority of them that does recognize the fact that they are racist. And actually takes pride in that. Again, something you see on tumblr a lot with their equally retarded leftist cousins.
Having once been a stupid teenager with some friends with right-leaning sympathies however, I can see the appeal of a man like David Duke and his somewhat reasonable sounding videos. He somehow manages to come across as less of a raging lunatic then most social justice activists I've seen ranting, and his mouth remains free of foam throughout his speeches, which among neo-Nazi's also is a rare trait. When you are poor, and your sense of historical knowledge is poor, and you have the wrong friends... when you are easily influenced, and young, I can see how one would get drawn into this rhetoric, and into the movement.
Nationalism in my mind is okay, when it is just national pride. And if someone has a sense of racial pride then again, I fail to see the harm in that. It's only when someone starts idolizing Hitler, seeing the world as one big conspiracy theory, blaming all of his problems on the Jews or Muslims or black people and so on, that it becomes problematic. If someone can be into Black Pride or White Pride without turning into a hateful bigot with a superiority complex, then more power to him. But I think this is innately impossible when you enforce that feeling of pride by bringing down the accomplishments and character of other people simply for being "different".
In my mind the most virulent anti-fascists (die-hard communists) tend to hold beliefs no more deluded and disgusting then those of the people they're against. Extremism = insanity.
