🐱 White supremacists responsible for most 2020 domestic terror attacks

CatParty

The numbers are in.

White supremacists are responsible for the majority of terrorist plots and attacks that occurred during the first eight months of 2020, according to a recent report by the nonpartisan think tank Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS).

Researchers found that white supremacists, anti-government extremists from the violent far-right, and involuntary celibates (incels) carried out 67 percent of all domestic terrorist plots and attacks. Far-left terrorists accounted for 20 percent of the plots and attacks. CSIS analyzed 61 incidents from Jan. 1, 2020 to Aug. 31, 2020.

Terrorism, the report states, is defined by "the deliberate use — or threat— of violence by non-state actors in order to achieve political goals and create a broad psychological impact."

So, incidents like hate crimes or protests and riots (like the racial justice demonstrations we saw this summer after the police killing of George Floyd) didn't factor into the research. Though the researchers acknowledge hate crimes and terrorism can overlap, hate crimes aren't always violent.

In peaceful protests for racial justice over the summer, far-right terrorists primarily targeted demonstrators. Some of their tactics included vehicle attacks, which were committed mostly by white supremacists or people who were against the Black Lives Matter movement.

Far-left terrorist attacks went up in 2020, with four times as many in 2020 as in 2019. The number of far-right terrorist attacks stayed the same in 2019 vs. 2020.

Despite the violence, there were only five people who were killed (all by guns) during these domestic terrorist attacks. This is very low compared to past incidents, like the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing that killed 168 people.

But, the researchers warn, violence could rise over the next year due to political divides, the COVID-19 pandemic, worsening economic conditions, racial injustice, and other factors.

I swear variations on this article have been posted like 10 times this year. White supremacist terrorists might just deserve their own thread. They're a menace!

Clearly an expert on White supremacists and not biased at all, just look at the titles of her other articles:

-Protests this summer were mostly peaceful and new data proves it (https://mashable.com/article/black-lives-matter-protests-peaceful/)

-How to demand justice for Jacob Blake and support Kenosha protesters (https://mashable.com/article/how-to-help-jacob-blake-kenosha-protesters/)

-How to recognize if you're being racially gaslighted (https://mashable.com/article/how-to-recognize-racial-gaslighting/)

(That last one seems particularly apt)

I am curious. When it comes to right-wing terrorist attacks, are there any specific examples the left brings up?

I'm going to guess the only one they could think of is the "White Supremacist Neo-Nazi Kyle Rittenhouse". Even though they're fucking morons for saying so.

Looks like the quintessential troon, but it's so hard to know for sure anymore.

Very masculine features.

anti-government extremists
Notice how they don't give examples for what far-right attacks were counted. Its largely technicality things, being generally anti-government is considered far-right by many agencies, even if the people are sovereign citizens or politically neutral and sometimes openly left-leaning

Also, its not shown in the OP, but the header image of "white supremacy terrorism" in the article is some guy spraying a guy with a shield with a fire extinguisher

Edit:

So is this counting that black guy that ran into those protesters on the highway? Does it also count every time protesters jumped on the hood of someone's car as "far right terrorism"?

This article is so much bull-shit wrapped up into one nice shiny package.

61 events across 8 months; given how bat-shit fucking insane this year has been since Fentanyl Floyd, I'd like to say this number is surprisingly low. Would also have me asking how exactly they documented the 100+ night streak of Portland insanity. You can say the event was on-going and so try to count as one; but at the same time, it happened at night, meaning there was a break. So theoretically it should count as 100+ events.

So, incidents like hate crimes or protests and riots (like the racial justice demonstrations we saw this summer after the police killing of George Floyd) didn't factor into the research. Though the researchers acknowledge hate crimes and terrorism can overlap, hate crimes aren't always violent.

Heh, you don't fucking say. I like how they couch this shit, "hate crimes aren't always violent." Get ready for a vibrant and diverse future where Jamal can say "whitey looked at me weird, so I had to curb-stomp his ass" and walk free.

Dollars-to-donuts; they're counting people getting sick of people blocking roads and deciding they have shit to do, or people actively resisting being pulled out of their vehicles. It'd also be prudent to focus on the rising terrorism instead of the terrorism that's stayed static.

You think they're counting the two who died in Seattle in that "only five" statistic? You know, the two kids who were joy-riding and their vehicle got riddled with rounds, then in the video you hear "Oh, you're still breathing?" before a final gunshot. That along with all the robberies, assaults, and rapes in the CHAZ too. Man, that was some great "right-wing" terror wasn't it.

>two white skinheads kill each other in a drug deal gone bad
RIGHT WING TERROR
>wannabe revolutionaries kill two teenagers in an act of misdirected mob justice and try to hide the evidence
Unfortunate accident

Add to it: they treat Leftist attacks with no-true-Scotsman kid gloves. "Antifa doesn't acktchually exist, so it doesn't count as terrorism!"
