I think there's definitely a similar discussion to be had regarding the Kardashian wannabes you see getting shit pumped into their cheeks/lips/asses at a young age. They've gotten more and more comon in the last 5 years.
im right on the cusp of being a zoomer and quite frankly the western hegemony shit was always something that i rolled my eyes at even back during the bush administration, and the current state of affairs is really only troubling for people who didn't see the man behind the curtain years ago. i doubt most zoomers give a shit about it because the propaganda machine has been priming for the death of the boomer paradigm for like 15 years if not more

Plus add to all this that even in the case of the few who do move out to try and explore the world and interact mostly run into the folks from the previous generations, who for the most part were/are already severely dysfunctional, being '"better" than their progeny only because the world they lived in forced them to be tough. Also, everything is just fake and dead. Art, entertainment, leisure, everything. You go out and just feel it. Nobody really cares about anything. Not you, not whatever might be involved in any instance of interaction.

You are correct that suicide will never be that big in terms of percentage of deaths, but the other deaths of despair (e.g., alcoholism and drug addiction with fentanyl being a particularly potent killer) will comprise an increasingly large proportion of deaths in this country alongside the increase in other self-destructive behavior.

Yeah, fentanyl and fent analogues are a legitimate fucking disaster. This is a bit of a tangent but we need to start calling fent what it is — a biological weapon, bioterrorism. People would be blown away if they knew how much of it is imported into North America from China every single day. The worst part is that there’s no “harm reduction” approach that actually works for fentanyl (aside from reagent testing but addicts very very rarely bother). Best explanation I’ve heard is this:

Except they kinda did? From what I understand, by placing their own picks on the throne, and then restricting all access to the emperor.
