Who's responsible for the state of modern CWC? - A discussion.

It's everything. He has fairly severe autism and probably other undiagnosed psychological problems. He had terrible parents. Bob at least tried, but he actively thwarted attempts to get him professional help and clearly didn't know how to handle Chris himself. He gave up after the Walsh stuff. And Barb is positively toxic and enabled the worse in Chris. Add to that years of social isolation and loneliness and you have a very exceptional individual.

Now take that person and enter the trolls. Imagine living a life where the majority of the people you interact with are imposters. Literally never knowing if anyone outside your parents are even real. Even a normal person would crack eventually. Someone else pointed out that Chris is basically a scared little boy who wants to be something else and doesn't know how. We didn't realize it at the time. But we've slowly been killing that boy.

I'm not putting all the blame on us.
I think Chris was a lost cause either way. But I sincerely doubt he'd be a self-mutilating Tomgirl if it weren't for our influence.

1. Borb. Nobody will deny that they should have done a better job raising him.
2. Chris himself. Even without the trolling, Chris would have still gotten himself kicked out of the Gameplace, burned his house down, and maced that Gamestop employee. All this on top of never finding a fucking job and creeping out every girl he ever met.
3. The trolls. I can't say this with 100% certainty, but every troll questioning his sexuality probably fucked with his head to the point where he became a tranny and got his taint pierced. And thanks to his autism and the fact that he's learned not to trust people on the internet, he won't listen to anyone who tells him that his new vagina is actually an infection that's going to turn gangrene if he doesn't go to the fucking hospital.

If you look at the intake survey from 2004 you can see that the doctor wrote that his thought process was "logical and linear" and "he seemed to have good insight into his limitations." Not saying his autism isn't a factor but it's not exactly severe.

This is kinda hard to answer, as people are shaped by multiple things: experiences, their environment, genetics, morals, you name it.

In my personal opinion, I believe his parents set him at a disadvantage when he was young, placing him into a hole that, while bad, he could've dug himself out of as an adult if he could've actually taken the initiative and sought treatment on his own.

The state is also partially to blame for allowing him to live his reckless/careless lifestyle via welfare, though that aspect of the issue is much more politically complex and very dependent on your ideology.

In short, I believe his parents and the state played a part in it, but ultimately Chris himself failed to right the wrongs done to him and chose to take a backseat to his own life choices.

I think he may have a chance if he moves out and starts living independent of Barb, stops posting on FB and starts going to more clubs. With the liberal world we live in, he has a better chance of acceptance if he keeps up the tranny act.

I have to agree sadly. I couldn't even imagine how fucked up I would be if every friend, every sweetheart, every acquaintance is not a TRUE and HONEST person. The only people to rely on would be my parents who are slowly dying off. It would fuck even the sanest persons mind. But if you think about it, if it wasn't for Borb's neglect and refusal to get him help then we probably never would have known Chris even existed.

As many have said, all are to blame for Chris' current mental state. Like you said though, he probably wouldn't have went this far if it weren't for the trolls. We kind of gave him the final push over the edge.

Most of the responsibility, I feel, should be laid upon Chris' parents and Chris himself. His parents failed to properly socialize him and provide him with therapy that would have help him develop better social and coping skills. They should have allowed him to go to a school that specializes in teaching children with mental and developmental problems. But ultimately Chris himself is the center of Chris' problems. His failure to listen to those who want to help him, his ego, his selfishness and self-centeredness, his refusal to change, his u healthy views on sex, his greed, his laziness, his poor health and hygiene, his fixation on childish things...all of that is Chris' fault and his refusal to improve himself and instead blaming everyone else for his faults...that's all on Chris. Yes trolls fucked with him for a few years and that may have pushed him towards a few unsavory actions and behaviors, but most of it is all Chris. And I do blame the State for not stepping in and removing Chris from an unhealthy environment with unfit parents. So it's a combination of factors, but the biggest factors are Chris and his Parents.

Chris, Borb, and the trolls. Chris is directly responsible for his actions since he very rarely admits his mistakes. Borb was not fit to be parents of an autistic child, especially since didn't really get Chris all the help he needed. Trolls, as much as how some did bring entertainment, didn't help either since some really screwed with Chris such as the Bluespike incident. Extended family members could count since they could of intervened but they didn't really bother. Even then, they may as well have their own issues to deal with and the last thing they may of wanted to deal with would be an autistic half-sibling that received poor parenting.

And I do blame the State for not stepping in and removing Chris from an unhealthy environment with unfit parents. So it's a combination of factors, but the biggest factors are Chris and his Parents.

Both Chris and his parents are the biggest to blame. They are the closest factors to being responsible for the modern CWC. Chris spent most of his life with his parents, growing up in an environment of their creation.

I don't think Chris would have gone as far into insanity and self-mutilation as he has without enablers who, instead of advising he get serious treatment for deep and worsening mental illness, have instead encouraged him to continue on a path he doesn't understand because autism.

Literally every adult I know with Asperger's can keep a job and live on their own. Yes, it takes more time to achieve these goals than average and communication is a learned skill for them rather than something they pick up, but they are fully capable of being productive members of society.

Chris had already started down the path of becoming a helpless manchild in a man's world long before the trolls found him, by that time, he'd already become an unwelcome fixture in peer social circles (The Game Place) and had conceived and carried out such idiocy as the attraction sign.

He did it to himself out of a combination of inherent stupidity and ego, with the biggest external factor being his parents who fed and enabled his stupidity by not putting their foot down until it was far far too late, and only half-heartedly at that, and ultimately were motivated less by his well-being and more by laziness, a persecution-complex, and concern that an abnormal child would make THEM look bad, therefore his problems were always externalized to everyone else, from schools to babysitters to the COmmonwealth of Virginia.

Eliot Rodger's parents tried, albeit ineffectually, to get their kid help more than Borb and company did.

Yes, but there is ample evidence to support that Chris does not have Asperger's. As Well, Chris seems to be developmentally delayed (retarded) and probably has a mood disorder with a few personality disorders. I'll put it this way, Chris beleives he is entitled to act the way he does, take Gamestop for example, because Borb installed several maladaptive personality disorders and traits into his psyche. The initial self-entitlement that Chris thought he had was because of the personality disorder, maladaptive characteristics, and mood disorder. The dressing like a 5-year-old and terrible impression of feminine speech with Chris yelling "Don't Call Anybody" was probably due to his autism and mental retardation. The mugshot was autism, mental retardation, and bad parenting.

I thought I'd make another topic since its a question that I find myself thinking about when we talk about Chris, especially in light of recent developments. Which party within Chris's life did the most damage to him? There are 4 key people/groups that have interacted with CWC (and the man himself)

Chris- He's done nothing to acknowledge his own mistakes and has taken no initiative to fix any of his problems. For years when a obvious rake is placed in front of CWC he would valiantly walk into it. Many times he would react in ways truly bizarre and learn nothing. However he has autism and you cant ignore that. It could have been blunted by...

Borb- Chris's parents have been a near total detriment to his life. Not only did they keep crucial therapy from CWC when he was younger due to bob's superstitions, they have taught him only bad life lessons and passed on their worse traits. Also they chose to do nothing about...

The trolls- Once entertaining prodding quickly became a council of individuals that managed Chris's life and increased the border of his delusions far over the horizon. Horrible things were done to CWC that were no longer funny as much as obsessive or creepy. Think the Bluespike incident. They were no replacement for CWC's...

Extended family- Cole has been absent from CWCs life. Probably for good reason since borb's behaviour was notorious. He didn't try to help Chris much thought, like....

The State- The government has left Chris and his dysfunctional family fall through the cracks. However there is a limited amount of action they could take due many factors.

While it would be dishonest to ignore anyone listed (especially Chris and borb) I wonder if there's a party ultimately responsible for modern CWC. What does everyone think? Is there a actor that should be exonerated or completely condemned? Should different groups share the responsibility more?

Parents. Easy question

They raised him with hoarding and not punishing him. He never learnt the basics of life and to accomplish anything reasonable.
They praised him when he did something wrong and supported him even when he was in the wrong.
Because of that, Chris can't seem to wrap his head around reality cause he was introduced to it.

Plus, if they really cared; he would've been working, not playing video games all day
