Honestly, what the fuck kind of plan was it to just let your kid not learn any life skills and be on govt assistance his entire life?

Oh yeah, so when we die and he needs to look out for himself, he's totally useless and will most likely die out in the cold.

We decided we wanted a child, but the one we had was autistic! Oh well, fuck it, we're too old for this shit! We'll chalk it up as a failure on the scoreboard and half-ass this one.

He should be eating healthy but we'll take him to Burger King every day and get him Lipitor because it's easier and more convenient for us than caring about his health and teaching him any semblance of healthy eating habits! We're old! This kid didn't count anyway! He's autistic!

He needs to go to school, but he can't go to a special one where he will get the help he needs! He's going to be lobotomized!

He spent time getting a college degree! Lets just let him sit around and do nothing!

Borb simply were not fit to be parents - Cole is a perfectly functional member of society (the fact he's kind of a total prick notwithstanding) but he hated Bob and before the Pappa da Rappa voting was on shaky terms with his own birth mother as he questioned who his birth father was who Barb claimed it was (IIRC it was found this man had never been legally married to Barb).

But with the autistic wonder child? Borb didn't even understand what Chris had, not to mention living on social concepts of a previous generation where Chris probably would have been sent to a mental asylum for being 'different', so they generally tried to brute-force mainstream him and coddled him the whole time, assuring him nothing was ever his fault.

Bob in some way did ultimately realize Chris would never be able to hold a job, hence why he told Chris the tugboat would give him more money than if he held a job he ever qualified for. So far that foresight has been accurate to the point it is the only thing supporting the Chandlers after their bullshit at GamePlace burned the significant pension Bob left behind.

If Borb didn't have him when they were older, they maybe wouldn't have had an autistic kid. If they didn't have an autistic kid, they wouldn't fight tooth and nail in order to try and be 'normal', if they didn't push against any sort of help, Chris might've been able to go into High School better equipped to handle social problems. If Chris was better equipped, he'd probably spend less time in fantasyland, and more time with friends, if he spent less time in fantasyland, Sonichu wouldn't have been made, or would exist as a weird internet artifact, updated once or twice and never again, if Sonichu wouldn't have been made, maybe ED wouldn't have messed around with Chris, and if Chris was better equipped to deal with negativity, maybe the trolling wouldn't have affected him too badly, and then maybe the Bluespike incident and all the fake Galpals wouldn't have happened, which would result in a maybe 'less' broken chris, and, and, and....

You get it. The roots lie with Borb, and they definitely fucked up by not giving him the care he needed early on, but everyone had a hand with Chris becoming Chris.

I've always thought the tom girl shit was the result of not being comfortable with societal expectations of the male gender (esp in the south) along with him thinking that he can't get a sweetheart because a) they used the excuse they are lesbians not interested in men and b) knowing he can't live up to "typical" male standards anyway, so the answer was to become a "lesbian."

In his thinking he could get the sweethearts without having the male gender expectations of being able to provide/work, be physically capable, etc... It was win-win in Chris's mind, he gets the china and doesn't have to deal with the typical expectations society has of grown men.

He's a thirty four year old "man' who wants to remain in a irresponsible childlike state but still wants laid. In his deranged mind and thanks to Snorlax he thinks women can do this, because it someone else's duty to provide for them. (Chris doesn't seem to realize it ain't 1950 anymore)

My view is it's Chris, due to his willful ignorance, and unwillingness to take good advice when it's given . Look at how many people told him the attraction sign wouldn't work, even Borb told him it and the "love quest" were terrible ideas and he carried on with it.

He's had white knights and, even trolls give him advice on how to better himself and his life. Instead of taking it he ebegs for toys, and carves soul vaginas into his taint. Bob's death should have been a wakeup call "Oh shit my mom is elderly with health issues too, I should plan and take steps accordingly." Nope instead he runs over Micheal Snyder and maces a game stop employee over the arm colors of an imaginary hedgehog. Because dammit Chris knows best.

I'm sure the other things have been factors, but people have been through much worse circumstances and thrived. At the end of the day it all falls on Chris for not even trying to better or help himself.

I say everybody played their part, some more than others:
Borb prevented Chris from getting the help he needed and basically keeping him an eternal Child which I say caused the most problems Chris faces today.

Chris refuses to take responsibility for anything, meaning he'll stay an emotional child forever and refuses any advice that could save him from this.

The trolls might have shaped Chris a bit but mainly the difference between classic Chris and modern Chris: a bit more paranoid, convincing him he's internet famous, and giving him the idea to start selling his stuff online. They might have influenced Tomgirl stuff a bit but IDK if that was them or the general progressive media outlets who focus on stuff like Caitlyn Jenner and such.

The government tried (or at least authority in general). The school system tried pushing him into a special needs school so they did more than Borb did. If anything, their biggest fault is not forcing people on welfare to get a job to continue collecting, meaning Chris can continue to do nothing all day with 0 consequences.

Chris' extended family isn't to blame at all. Maybe they could have called social services or intervened but you can't blame them for doing nothing and they certainly didn't fuck Chris up.

TL;DR:
mostly Borb, which lead Chris becoming incapable of learning from his mistakes with some minor troll influence and a bit of the government giving him welfare to prevent him from getting a job.
