Just from watching numerous lolcows on the internet I actually agree with this alot. Theres alot of cognitive dissonance when it comes to lolcows where we pretend like the audience and the trolls have nothing to do with the person's situation and we're laughing at someone who wholeheartedly deserves it. I've done it myself numerous times but at the end of the day we're still laughing at retarded people on the internet which will always be somewhat wrong on some level.
To me its a combo of the trolls, borb, chris, and us the audience. I dont see the state as playing any significant role outside of making sure him and his family werent homeless and starving. I dont see chris without the tugboat as being more industrious with all these other factors.
Chris himself is one of the laziest and most unintelligent people I've ever witnessed so he has to bear some blame.
His parents treated him like he was some sort of spoiled invalid or something and never required much from him and pre trolls they probably share the biggest blame for the chris of today.
Paranoid Tranny recluse chris is a direct result of the internet (trolls/audience/internet). Chris, in an interesting twist, was so fucking guilible and so easy to troll that everyone on the internet thought they could successfully troll him. Can you imagine what it must have been like for 90% of anyone you meet on the internet and sometimes in real life trying to decieve you? It'd make a normal person pretty paranoid but when you're extremely unintelligent like chris you react in a whole new way. Finally chris always had weird gender issues. The internet gave him a forum to explore all of his poorly constructed ideas. Beyond that most of his trolls being men or bringing up pickles and all that shit had a lasting effect. All human beings possess logic, even if the logic doesnt make sense its there. Tranny chris in my eyes is him trying to disassociate himself with trolls as much as humanly possible and to simultaneously draw as close as possible to that which he wants and likes women.

Second, it was himself. Rather than put the effort in getting a job he just pranced his way with his monthly tugboat. It was also his own decision to react the way he did to the trolls, his antics providing shits and giggles to most of us here.

Bob and Barb failed Chris in many ways, but the very least they could have done for him was to limit and monitor his internet usage as soon as they were aware that he was having problems online. They were so overprotective of him, that they switched schools rather than have him receive help for his issues, but did absolutely nothing to address his problems with the internet. I just can't fathom how two elderly people voluntarily lived in the environment that they did. I say "voluntarily" because they took no steps whatsoever to address all the chaos and disruption that Chris's online behavior brought into their home.
Barb seems to be pretty evil or had mental issues of her own. Bob seemed to be a more likeable person, but it's pretty telling that his other children weren't in contact with him. He had a daughter that they weren't exactly sure where she lived, or what she did. His son had an 8 year old child they weren't aware of. It takes some pretty extreme stuff for that to happen, whether it was Bob abandoning them or being the type of father that would make two adult children excommunicate him. Maybe him spoiling/pampering Chris was his way of trying not to repeat his mistakes.
But anyway, back to the internet. As soon as the prank calls started, as soon as the hookers started knocking at the door, as soon as Bob walks in to Chris MASS DEBATING in the kitchen, how in the hell did they not change their phone number, and limit and monitor his internet usage? If for no other reason than to not have to live in that type of environment themselves, as two elderly, retired people? But it's like they all just shrugged their shoulders and went to Country Cookin.

They didn't understand the Internet and persisted in believing it was some weird conspiracy of local people who knew Chris, so didn't understand that cutting down the Internet would in fact actually stop it. Also even as a tard Chris knew more about the Internet than they did and could probably circumvent attempts to limit his use anyway.
It's like asking why did Bob let Barb turn the house into a festering, filthy shithole full of hoard. He was a sick old man near death and didn't have the strength to fight any more.

It's wrong to laugh at an exceptional individual yes, but it's horrific how Chris was allowed to easily slip through the cracks and introduce himself to the internet in the first place. People may not agree with me, but Chris should have been put under specialized 24-hour care during his developmental years. His brain lives at an intersection between autism, brain damage, schizophrenia, and personality disorders.
That goes for the both of them, they were both terrible parents before Chris, and their age practically guaranteed that the insects living in their home would be better at parenting their young.
I don't think it was being overprotective, people act this way all the time, like their child is a reflection of them. Having your youngest child committed to a mental facility reflected badly on Borb in their minds.

His parents are at fault as he was raised in a sheltered setting. They didn't even bother to force him to get a job (long-term job) when Chris reached the age of 20+ and instead made him rely on his "tugboat."

This is what it comes down to. The pair wanted Chris' money and the tugboat was the obvious, solid, won't ever change income stream.
The one thing I noticed about the trolling is that it wasn't 100% malicious. There were trolls that did put legitimate effort into helping Chris or showing the error of his ways. Chris responded by doubling down on his exceptional individualism.
Think of when he went to talking to Michael Snyder. He was nice, he laid it out, but when he didn't get what he wanted, he yells JEW as he was leaving as some parting shot at what he believed was Michael fucking him in the ass.
That's pure, unadulterated Chris right there. No trolls did that.

there's a blog I've been reading for years called Dinosaur Dracula. Written by a guy called Matt who likes 80s cartoons/films, toys and kid's junk food. The blog is basically him sperging about what fun thing he's done - what toys he's bought, how he's decorated his house with funny halloween stuff, trips to the carnival.
I think he has Asperger's and bad shyness - he says that when he sees someone he knows, even a relative, in a store he hides to avoid them because he can't cope with seeing people by surprise. He admits he wastes money on toys - he recently spent $100 on an 80s bag of ninja turtle pork rinds because the bag reminded him of childhood.
However - he has friendships with other toy bloggers (they go on trips together), I think he has a girlfriend, his blog has been popular over a decade, and he's funny and likeable. His stuff is fun to read and he listens to his girlfriend when she makes him clear his collection out to make room. He has a good job editing promos for Nickelodeon IRRC.
He just seems like such an example of someone like Chris gone right - like the best Chris could have been.

Blaming the government for the state of Chris is just as retarded as Chris himself.
It is not and should not be the state's responsibility to safeguard and reeducate some spaz who by all rights should know better. Now if Chris were criminally insane or if there was credible evidence he'd shoot up PVCC or some shit maybe we'd be talking.
Even his brushes with the law are small potatoes and neither the Snyder incident or the GameStop macing really indicate Chris is a menace to society. If simply having the potential of a public tard out was cause for alarm we may as well lock up all autistics.

I know what site/guy you're talking about. I think he's just a good example of someone with autism making it somewhere in life. A good job, relationships with others, having a hobby. These are things we all have, and the guy is an example of just a person trying his best to fit in while not letting others shit on what he likes. Not to mention Matt's blog is pretty popular, with every post garnering a lot of comments for a blog. He's the polar opposite of Chris, who has none of those as he refused to do anything with his life because of the way he was raised.

The problem with Chris isn't just that he has spergy obsessions. There are certainly spergs who turn their obsession into an actual occupation.

This is infuriating when it comes to Barb. She took advantage of Chris' condition for the sake of tugboat and socially/occupationally crippled him for life. She's almost similar to a parent with 'Munchausen's Syndrome by Proxy' when you think about it.

It seems like maybe Barb isn't a very good parent. I bet she has a lot to do with Chris's lot in life, but she appears very old and unhealthy. I wonder if anybody's bothered to ask what will happen to Chris after Barb dies?

It's not only that he's shitty, it's that he's apathetic and lazy about it as well. I remember listening to the calls where he tried to lie about how he had done a ton of comic pages but for some reason couldn't scan and upload them. Or when he buys games that he never even plays once. It's the horrible combination of a shit attention span, horrible lack of effort with anything, nothing for talent, and a deep sense of entitlement and narcissism.

I don't think it was just the tugboat, I think that as soon as Barb found out Chris was slow in the minds, she groomed him to be her lamer sidekick that does all the work (horribly). Though, horrible is still something in your older years when you have nothing and no one.
