The core problem is that "leftism" is rooted in progressivism, which is the idea that society can (and should) be run like a factory, with a team of all-powerful industrial engineers at the top, ensuring that the factory continuously expands and improves efficiency, in order to meet some preordained, sacred, and historically inevitable goal.

Waste and inefficiency are bad. Anything which gets in the way of the factory's goals is bad. As progressivism is a collectivist ideology, individuals have no inherent worth (including their lives), and as it is an elitist system, anyone who disagrees with the current dictates of the managerial class must naturally be viewed as an impediment to efficient progress.

Combine this lack of respect for individual worth, with a fanatic devotion to the interests of progress, and it's impossible not to embrace genocide.

One might as well ask why doctors are always handing out pills that murder billions of viruses, or why garbage collectors are always throwing out ton after ton of trash. Genocide is in their nature. It is the natural state of a machine-man whose selfhood and humanity has been reduced to nothing more than a cog in the engines of a two-hundred year old death cult.

In what world was Hitler a leftist? Sure his rhetoric is nominally socialist, but in practice the dude cozied up to big German industry and famously made government-corporate partnerships with companies like IG Farben, Hugo Boss, etc. A leftist would nationalize those companies, not give them a seat at the table.
