Eh it is a thing though. Mainly what I was looking for in retrospect was religious community. There is just really something powerful and meaningful to practicing religion with others.

All pagens I have met are one of two people. It's literally one of two extremes.

They're either Pagens because they hate that their Christan parents or grandparents wanted them to go to church on Sunday instead of play video games and smoke weed with their boys. This is like 98% of all how the pagens grow up. This usually leads to one of two equally cringe choices.

Either they come to the terms Christianity is either cucked because it says black and Muslim people should still be treated like human beings with souls and go Pagens for 1488 no shit skins or subhumans worship odin.

Or in the attempt to not look like the racist pagen you get the Tyrone can go to Valhalla and Nazis aren't in Valhalla because Nazis are bad guise.

Literally every pagen is either an annoying faggot who is upset they have to treat brown people like people or some faggot who wants to not feel guilty for being a faggot.

It kind of amazes me that nobody has pointed out that neoChristians/neoPagans/fedora Atheists are basically all the same people. It's the same demographic of terminally online maladjusted social rejects that makes up each of these groups, the argumentation tactics are the same, the memes are the same, the complete ignorance of philosophy and history is the same, they are nearly identical in all respects except for what aesthetic they choose to apply over their (also nearly identical in terms of real world actions by their followers) belief systems. The reason they're all completely insufferable is because they have no true morals or beliefs, they simply get satisfaction from posturing and arguing endlessly about pointless autistic shit that most people do not give a single fuck about and pretending that their LARP makes them better than you. Incidentally this is also why they infight a lot.

For example: I would guess that most of you know at least one Christian who isn't terminally online. A regular person who just goes to church on Sunday when they can, prays, wears a cross, and tries to do as much good and as little evil as possible. How do you think they would react if exposed to some neoChristian pseudo-fascist Twitter memes with crusaders and DEUS VULT and phonk music blasting over them with distorted scanlines and maybe even a black sun in the background if we're feeling cheeky? Yeah, they'd go "what the hell is this?" and then after you explained it to them and explained that it isn't really a joke to most of these neoChristians they'd go "that doesn't sound very Christian at all, these people are either very young and edgy or they need help". This same thing also applies to regular, everyday atheists who don't spend 16 hours a day seething about religion online and just live their lives quietly.

If actual, normal pagans still existed they would likely be the same way, but they don't, so the only "pagans" that exist today in any significant numbers are the same terminally online maladjusted social rejects that make up the groups they spend most of their time arguing with. As others have pointed out, they don't really have a religion so much as they have an aesthetic designed to piss off their opponents and enrage boomer Christians who don't understand what's going on well enough to know that they shouldn't be taken seriously. They're insufferable because, just like their twins in the other groups, they feed off of getting negative attention and pointlessly shitflinging to fill their empty lives. When they get bored of being pagan, they'll convert to something else and LARP as that for a while instead, because due to their inability to be sincere a religion is like an outfit to them.

tl;dr All of these groups are basically the bronies of religion and you shouldn't take them seriously. Literally just don't reply, there's nothing to be gained by speaking to them.

Because we cut down their holy trees and burned them, burned and tore down their temples and idols, outlawed buggery (especially buggering children), outlawed human sacrifice (especially child/babby sacrifice), and generally told them everything they did and believed in was haram and killed them if they kept doing it and believing in it. if your belief system is a fashion accessory, instead of something powerful and useful and meaningful, regardless of if anyone is watching you or not, you're not only doing it wrong, you're also doing yourself a disservice

the same goes with any political ideology, ideas and concepts are technology, they should make sense and be more useful to you than what you could get out of wearing a hat and uniform

Depends on the Pagan. Just like how some Christians are terrible and others are fine.

That said, terrible Pagans seem a lot less likely to commit terror attacks in the US (Europoorland not so much, what with Varg and his Kentucky Fried Churches).

Think being insufferable or not depends on the person itself and not what they are into. A lot of people are like "It's not about being/doing X, it's about telling everyone else that I do X".

It's like they are constantly being forced to tell people that they are something. How many times have you read a comment that starts with "as an X myself..."
 
Same reasons why Atheists are insufferable. It attracts people who never get out of their "FUCK YOU DAD" phase. People that shill paganism often just repurpose the same retarded takes on Christianity reddit atheists make.
I'd also argue that it also attracts young people who see modern Christianity as weak and pathetic (to be honest it is) that are also ignorant enough to think paganism is just being a violent marauder. For these people, paganism gives them a sense of strength, similar to how reddit atheists felt that abstaining from religion made them smart. Since these feeling are not derived from actual strength, they must prove to themselves that others (Christians exclusively) are weak by being annoying faggots on the Internet. (Again, just like atheists with intelligence)

Another reason, it is a weird obscure religious practice thus attracts weirdos.


Please tell me someone has a copy of this without the laugh track
