Youtube comments are pretty much the same. Every time you see a clip of a movie with a villain in it there's always 500 people saying: "Remember, if you hate the character it just means the actor did such a great job!" Like they can't bear seeing any kind of negativity without trying to counter it with their own positivity.

There are two kinds of redditors.

One of them is the "nice" crowd. They think that by obeying the rules, staying within the lines, using all of the approved language, that they are the ones in the "right".

The other is the "edgy" crowd. This group has to skate the edges of the rules, because otherwise they will either be downvoted into oblivion, or deleted by a power-hungry mod. It's about as edgy as the guy you knew in high school that was enlightened because he just loved the Beatles.

Either way, you don't get too far outside a safe, milquetoast opinion on reddit.

That's the 'fun' part. You need to farm karma to post on most mainstream subs, but the jannies will ban you if they realize you're doing it. You've got to be sneaky about it like by posting a bunch of inane askreddit threads until you get enough updoots.
