Why are so many American conservatives so willing to abandon conservatism?

Conservatism is fake and gay. Anyone who tries to understand current politics through the completely made up categories of conservative and liberal has failed their voting IQ test.

Oh you sweet summer child.... KF has plenty of people who are either schizo or else are trying to pull false flags. Some of the beliefs I've seen expressed are so extreme that its hard to take them any other way.

And to answer the topic question.... I would think part of the problem is that right now in America, neither side looks good. More and more people are becoming aware of Horseshoe Theory--the idea that to someone who isn't a complete fucktard, political extremists all sound the same.

It's something I've discussed before: to a non-fuckwad, "we should execute all white people" sounds exactly the same as "we should execute all woke people." you're still talking about mass murder along political lines either way.

At some point people ask, "what is the point of overthrowing one tyrant if the end result is just we get another, very similar tyrant?" But this is the problem of the American system: it never gives us a genuine "good" choice, just a choice between two tyrants (and yes I know the presidents themselves are little more than figureheads, I'm talking about the people who unironically believe the head of the US means anything). So under our current system all you can hope for is that the next guy will fuck over someone else instead of you.

Thing is, as Americans, we want better. The whole purpose of the USA was to be a country that lived up to a higher standard. We already have countries that are just endless successions of tyrants--China being the predominant example, so much so that if you read much into their philosophy they actually see this as a foregone conclusion and have invented all sorts of copes to explain it. Sadly a lot of Americans seem to be going the same way.

The only way things will get better is if we reject the two existing parties altogether and set up a third party. That's gonna be tough because our current system actively sabotages all third parties... athough I've always wondered why Americans are such cucks about playing by the rules when they know the rulers don't....

the capitalist acts smug about 'horseshoe theory' by pointing out that communists and fascists both oppose certain civil liberties.
the communist in turn points out that fascists and capitalists are very similar because they both support private property and market economies.
and the fascist then points out that communism and capitalism are very close to each other in that both are similarly materialist and internationalist in their outlook (and jewish)

Couple of things:

First, just because someone says something for a self-serving reason does not mean the statement is false. A person accused of a crime will of course attempt to argue their innocence--that does not mean we should immediately assume they're all lying.

Secondly, I would think the fact that so many people of disparate beliefs all notice functionally similar things makes it more likely to be true, not less. I'm sure all these groups would say grass is green, too.

Thirdly, I wasn't suggesting we just give up and let the bad people win because horseshoe theory... you'll notice I suggested breaking away from the Liberal vs Conservative duality entirely and coming at it with something new. Fight the problem from a new angle. Be the giant alien squid dropped on a city.

People don't conserve new shit. They don't question shit that never goes out of style or have no replacements. They conserve old shit that typically is or will go out of favor. Eventually support dwindles to the point that they give up or supporters simply die off. They get replaced by the next round of conservatives that will support something newer yet is still dying off. They won't care so much about previous losing positions or things before their time. A way to think of it is if we are not slowly losing it why would anyone consider conserving it? It is an unfortunate position of losers.

Anything old has to compete with a myriad of new things designed to replace them. Many will fail, but all of them eat away at support. No one attaches to the new things that go nowhere. So only the old things that people care about and the new things that gain traction are ever notable. It is typically obvious what will die first if something is gaining steam and the other thing is in decline.

The main reason why I don't consider myself a conservative is because you can't just base your political ideology off of submission.

American Politicians in the late 1800's were writing in papers that Conservatism is a losing strategy. Continually scraping what scraps you had left after the progressives knocked down another wall. But I think it was entirely by design.

Because Americans en masse pretty much have no values, let alone any they conserved. They let America's Christian roots, freedoms of the classical liberal tradition, the culture of America based on hard work, integrity and individualism that respects and integrates into a larger community, the nuclear and extended family and community in general go to waste. Conservatism wasn't damned to be dead in the water, but the inability for the movement to conserve traditions that helped America grow while dealing with an ever-changing and confusing modern world pretty much lead to it's own death.

Biggest sign American politics are a con job: the "right wing" party's color is red and is called "Republican". Do you see how these things are contradictory? They haven't "conserved" anything, and having a uniparty doesn't help; every four years Americans play around with the illusion of choice when the policy stays the same and nothing is really different. There is no one running for president who supports anything near I support. You disagree? Tell me when the GOP dissolves and a new party shows up which makes good on talk to suspend any and all foreign aid, bring back sodomy laws, push policy which penalizes people getting on welfare as a way to make money and promotes marriage, and deports all illegal immigrants down to the last generation. But alas, I am politically homeless in this country, and I will be for the forseeable future, not that I would want to get wrapped up in idiotic red v. blue political tribalism worshipping politicians or pretending like you buy into kabuki theater going on every day as the US sinks further into decline. And not only that, the GOP seems to love to cede ground on major issues and adopt steadily far left policies which the supposed "opposition" promoted five years beforehand.
