I'll give my two cents, thanks to everyone for providing the thoughtful discussion thus far.

Once you become a parent, your perspective on this changes. Previously, I thought the lolicon fetish was the sign of arrested development and detestable, but largely distinct from pedophilia. Now, I see far less distinction between the two. Simply put, we as humans are hard-wired biologically to find the mature physical traits of the opposite sex attractive. When this process is hijacked to where you no longer find that attractive and instead find the immature version attractive, it's hard to see it as anything other than pedophilia.

You are correct. There is something very wrong with American physiology today. Alice's physique is common, but certainly not historically normal.
