Why are so many kf-coded people irl dysfunctional?

Every time I've tried to branch out IRL to meet people who'd be the types to appreciate kiwi farms-esq humor/interests/political perspectives they're either barely employed/unemployed, addicted to something, or severely autistic. Everyone who seems decently put together with normal jobs and no ostensible addictions is a reddity husk of a person - the sort to actually fall for astroturfing, for instance. What gives?

Most people are more inclined to notice the splinter in their brother's eye, but not the log in their own.

Kiwis aren't some hyper-enlightened secret society. We come from all walks of life. Hell, some of us follow lolcows because we teeter on the brink of cowdom ourselves, held back from it only by self-awareness and the good sense to not overshare.

We're all fucked up to some degree. Never think it cannot happen to you.

I think what strikes me as odd is that it doesn't feel like we come from walks of life, since I've yet to spontaneously meet one in like a stable cushy white collar office job or at university (unless they had some subsequent mental breakdown) etc.

You might be confusing cause and effect. I work in manufacturing so I can show floor people, engineers, or my supervisor spicy memes or say like “hey look at this retard lol.” I still know the edge don’t talk about Israel or niggos or anything like that.

My boss actually came into my workspace when I had MATI on a speaker and immediately heard “YOU FUCKED WITH THE WRONG TRANNY BITCH” (I work alone in a clean room, I’m rarely disturbed) and he lol’d.

Note the wording of the OP - I'm suggesting that the people I've met who seem KF-adjacent (in personality, interests etc.) all fit a certain sus demographic.
So these people don't even use the site and somehow you find them representative of KF users... why? There are all kinds of different people on here from different walks of life and with different political believes and interests. You sound like a weirdo and that's probably why you artract a certain type of person.

This is nonsense, Kiwifarms' userbase has enough variability to cover a wide range of personalities and ideals.

The main traits that are more common (not unanimous) are non-political-correctness (at least when being anonymous, not everyone spams slurs IRL), some degree of cynicism, and general aversion to mainstream transgender ideals.

But you'd think Kiwifarmers know how to powerlevel, so you might not notice even if you meet a Kiwifarmer IRL. And you're also approaching people with this out of nowhere, they probably think that you're the weirdo.

That's an odd sentiment: "Guys why is it that a demographic of people who tend to have socially misaligned sensibilities are more likely to not have good jobs, be autistic, or be depressed drug addicts?".
It seems sort of obvious why there would be a correlation there. You're specifically looking for people who don't go with the flow then asking why they struggle to go with the flow.

In addition to that, kind of like Hamstirer said if someone's jumping in with this stuff just after meeting them it probably means they either can't or won't learn what's appropriate to express in which settings, which is a necessary skill for functional individuals.

I know people who appreciate a good joke about minorities and who are well employed with degrees and whatnot, but they aren't the chud caricatures you seem to be imagining. Or at least they aren't until everyone knows each other and you've all started drinking.

Do you honestly think there are no ways to distinguish someone generally more kf-esq than someone generally not? Like obviously yes probably at least one person on this site likes Marvel movies and at least one person probably likes troons or something but exceptions don't make the rule (and the general argument that goes "there can be an exception to a generalization, therefore we can't make or observe any generalizations just doesn't make sense).

You can't just open a conversation by asking every person you meet how they feel about tranny's.

Re-read the OP. I'm claiming that assuming I already know someone seems like the type to enjoy this site's content (which could be arrived at via the most subtle, extended communication over a series of months or years - at no point did literally anything in the OP insinuate that I pick up on the sort of person someone is right out of the gate), why is it that that sort of person tends to have a bunch of immediately observable traits (e.g. substance issues, sketchy employment etc.)?

Then read what I've already said.

Those types of people that you mention could easily align with the values I laid out (unemployed: because they have more time so they spend it on a forum; autistic: because this site follows and archives lolcows to a degree almost no one does; etc), but that doesn't mean that there aren't other kinds of people on this site that you have not picked on IRL, because again, of what I've said.

There are folks here who are mainly interested in the tech threads, others on generic shitposting, others on finances/bitcoin/etc. I bet that for a lot of these, you don't pick on IRL, you just focused on a subset of the userbase (meaning: you can find (what you consider) "normal" people who'd enjoy Kiwifarms as well, mixed with the others).

You may also find that those types of profiles you wrote about are on Twitch, Discord, Twitter, 4chan...

Normal people don't act like Redditors either, that's why "acting like a Redditor" brings to mind the kind of wannabe influencer attention whores who get overly excited over trashy modern pop culture, and really pushy over their off-kilter moral compasses. Most people try to keep conversations light with people they're not close to, because you're not supposed to talk about touchy subjects like politics and religion with acquaintances, coworkers, and strangers.

I’ve got a white collar professional job in a cubicle, but while I’m at work I’d never say or do anything to indicate I’d visit this site, except browse it when no one’s looking. If anyone asked a site-related question or made an off color joke I’d probably deflect and pretend to not understand.

Except inverted in this case where you only notice the people that are spergs instead of the people that take "don't powerlevel" to heart and have the social awareness to act normal
