Again, imo, they have a problem with empathy for others so emotional appeals in propaganda fails on them but when it's direct it can be effective since they are highly susceptible and gullible.

This is the core of it. It's a sensory issue and they hate the sensations of being embodied. They don't understand it, can't process it, often lack the metacognition to make sense of it.
