For example, India is infamous for the suicidality of its farmers due to their low social status, rising costs, decreasing income and the fact you can get fucked over by things outside of your control. In the US, it's mining and construction with highest suicide rates. Some industries are simply more or less developed in the third world.

I'm a strong believer in Maslow's hierarchy of needs, and when you look at it, you realize that wealth is not necessary to achieve it.
I also agree with the school of thought amongst psychologists that depression (and the suicide that ensues) happen when one is stuck and cannot see oneself move forward and climb to the next step.



And the neat thing about that is that depression does not happen when the subject struggle towards a need, only when he thinks he is completely stuck. (No matter if it's in Safety (incurable cancer), Belonging (incels), Esteem (losers), or Actualization/Transcendence (blackpilled).
If you're a simple man living in a shithole country having to struggle every day to get money, to keep your home, to not sell your daughter into prostitution, etc, then you feel good about yourself and will not be miserable.
