Unpopular opinion but autists are socialized to be that way by iPads and emotionally neglectful parents. That's why they all have the exact same solipsism and emotional void as orphans with reactive attachment disorder. The "we don't know what causes it" sentiment started because moms of autists were offended by refrigerator mother theory and psychologists noticing their attachment styles.

Downs syndrome is a chromosomal abnormality. They are dumber but don't have emotional and social problems unless they're experiencing dementia, some other kind of neurological problem. I've seen them run their own social media accounts, drive cars in short distances around their town, even buy alcohol. But they really behave like a 5 year old child would. It's nothing that would make them an lolcow.

Autistic people spend a lot of time online exposing their retarded nature because that's just what mentally ill people do. They're unstable, borderline sociopathic.

There's varying degrees of autism. Upbringing definitely plays a part in how a high functioning autist turns out. Good luck rearing the tism out of a severe autist that can only communicate through grunts and punches. You'll get better results training a dolphin to speak English.

Personally think high functioning forms of autism should go back to being separate but kinda similar disorders. The autism spectrum is like putting every autoimmune disease into a spectrum and saying someone with IBD and someone with lupus have the same disease.

People with Down syndrome tend to be raised in very religious households and their behaviour reflects this. Also, I think it would be pretty bad form to mock a person with a genetic issue they were born with versus a person who is otherwise mentally capable but actively does the wrong thing.

Patrick Tomlinson does not have Down syndrome and otherwise appears to be intellectually capable. Yet, he misbehaves. In my opinion, that is a central reason which makes lolcows funny.

This also happens with severe autists and people with other developmental disabilities. Group homes and other institutional settings love to hire the least qualified people. It's not uncommon for them to be drug addicts that can't get any other job. The ones in my area will fire people for daring to care about their job.
