Why are there no human representatives on the DK Crew?

Gorillas, chimps, and orangutans can all be counted among Donkey Kong's friends. That is, every extant member of the great ape family except the human. Hell, even Diddy is a DK Crew member and he's a monkey, which are further removed genetically from Donkey Kong and his other friends than humans are.

Is Donkey Kong prejudiced against humans due to his past run-ins with Mario? Or could the Crew be HERPS (Human Exclusive Radical Primates?) That would not be cool, because you know who are also herps? The Kremlings.
