why are we here? why is the purpose of life?

There's no universal answer, just what you decide is meaningful. Some chase happiness, others seek knowledge, legacy, or love. Maybe life doesn't come with a purpose you have to make one.

I guess whatever you feel gives you purpose is the meaning of it.

Why can't anyone reply in a semi-serious tone?
I don't know, we are left to our devices and made to believe that we rule ourselves. And yet, we don't even know who we are or what brought us here. It's like something's not right.

I once had the realization that I and we are all god on pcp and it made me cry lots.

According to our current understanding of the universe, there is no fate. No predetermined path for someone to take, only the metaphysical prison where every one of our actions, for minimal as they are, carry unforseen consequences our minds are simply not evolved to deal with—and never will.

Our purpose then is paradoxically clear as it obfuscated; your purpose is only the one you make, not one that is given you since your inception. Even the machines that you use follow the same ontological principle, yes they have Read Only Memory since manufacturing, but what software you put and how you use it, that is their purpose.

And humans, are, such as nature's happy evolutionary accidents tjat they are, machines of blood, bone, flesh, ideas and emotions.

Code your own destiny, one IF statement at a time.

This web site is the pinnacle of creation. From the Big Bang to the primordial ooze to the dawn of man, it has all been solely for the creation of this web site, the only thing that has or ever will please the First Mover and the Eternal Architect. All of natural law was scripted the way it was only to bring about the Kiwi Farms in 2014. We are the crowning glory of an age in decline. If you don't like that answer, others exist.

My 2 bit half baked idea is that there is no purpose, no defined "reason" for which or because of which we live. Nothing indelible or "baked into" living as it is. I think a way to say it is that purpose assumes an apriori condition which is likely unknown or unknowable.

But, we can create a purpose though, for sure and looking around there are many examples of people creating purpose in their lives. And being able to do that, we'll that is what separates us from an animal.

But, as for some indelible everlasting reason for you to be here? The universe don't give two shits. In and of itself, life is brutish, cruel, painful, and full of suffering for all things. We are simply part of that process but since you are lucky enough to be asking about purpose, you are smart enough to figure out how to make some.

Beyond that, we're space dust. Some of us are less fucked than others.

The mean of life is to exist, even if you and everything you effect in your life evently fades you where still here and you got to experience this. everything you did and will ever do changes the world and people around you, you spread joy, you cause pain or hatred, you set off unimaginable chain reactions that alter lives and you bring love and beauty that is unquantifiable. It doesn't matter what you leave, you existed you changes the world in ways that no matter how small truly matter and most of all you lived and nothing can change that.
