Why can't Eggman just make an undefeatable Badnik/Egg Machine already? - AKA: Is Eggman a lolcow?

Seriously, why doesn't he just build Spiked Wall Man Egg already? Or a boss covered completely in Springs? (Arguably more effective than Springman) And yes, I realize he tried a bot with a spring shield in the Archie comics and it broke him when Sonic defeated that one, but I'm talking about game canon, since the comics are a bit autistic and convoluted.
