Why do archive.md,.ph,.vn,.fo, and .li work for me but not .md or .is? - And how do I fix this?

I have to manually edit every archive.md link to .vn every time

And prettty much every archive link on KF ends in .md

I can't possibly be the only one with this problem

So that rules out Reasons 1 and 2. So the only reason left is that your ISP (or possibly your VPN? But that would be odd) is blocking it for some reason.

happened to me as well. Why hasn't the site maker fixed the site? My URL is taking 7 hours to finish. :/
The site maker has no control over ISPs blocking his web domains. All he can do there is have other domains that aren't blocked and point to the exact same web server (which is exactly what he's done with the .ph, .is, .vn, etc domains). (And for instance, exactly what...

What errors do you get when you try to open archive.is? Or does it just not load, or what? (If it's the latter it could be that your ISP is blocking it. Only white supremacists use archival sites, after all.)

(And for instance, exactly what @Null has done with kiwifarms.net and kiwifarms.is: they both point to his server, but most ISPs that have banned the .net version have the .is version open).

ETA: @Lou'sMysteriousBenefactor for something you can try if you want, it's possible that your ISP is just blocking the archive.md site at the DNS level, in which case using a different DNS server (e.g. Google's, see the instructions here) will fix it perfectly.

Both work fine on my machine. Brave with PIA. Sounds like a DNS issue. Try using different DNS servers in your network config. If you use your ISP's DNS try changing the DNS settings in the router. If you are using cloudflare DNS, try PIA's DNS.

ETA: flush your dns and reconnect your vpn (if applicable) after you change your settings using command ipconfig /flushdns.

Edit2: Tested and working just fine with PIA DNS and Cloudflare DNS, with Brave.
