I like British regional accents a ton, but hate most of the British urban accents, which is about how I feel about American ones too. It has to be a thing about things that sound rural/folksy versus that sound elite or crass, but oftentimes there's actual similarities across the ocean too. Northern England is my favorite, like the Yorkshire area, but I like Cockney, West Country, really pretty much everything that's not that Southern England London-and-its-surroundings stuff. Cockney is the exception to that rule.

I made a thread about it that got dunked on, but there is something I think of as like "accent physiognomy," the speech of a people is a window into their soul.
