Why do cats make biscuits?

Solution
Highly evolved instincts that aren't needed in the suburban kittypet lifestyle.

I reckon they're trying to gather up a comfy pile of straw to sit on but they're too dumb to realize it won't work. Like how they refuse to eat the same flavor catfood after three days in a row so it won't go extinct.

Some cat experts say it's a self comfort/contentment habit. The time a cat has with it's mother is very important to their development. They knead to stimulate her milk glands. It's very comforting to them. If a cat kneads you that means they are very comfortable and happy with you.

All of my cats knead, at different speeds, pressures, and claw extension.

My oldest, was found in a bush a few weeks old and given to me. I'm his first memory lol and I have a small amount of stomach fat that he somehow can seek out and pull on my skin.

The second oldest, I got right as she was getting weaned. She once started doing it to my damn FACE as she dozed off. Hurt like he'll and almost got my eyeball.

The other ones... only one other does it on me, the others only do it to pillows and blankets, never to people.
