From wha the Internet i screaming, Turning Red is the new High Guardian Spice. However, aside from a vide of Matt Walsh being Tainted by the Preview and a currently unwatched video from Red Raptor Writes, I barely see any of the actual controversy. In fact, I never would have known of the controversy had not fans of the film not kept furiously defending the film.

I actually saw the film itself, but I certainly do not find the film rage-inducing at all.

Everybody points out the "period" shit but tis not even about that cause they make a joke specifically how it's not that but instead a literal panda thing in the fucking movie. The problem comes with the fact it's set in the early 2000s but looks like a grubhub ad with corporate "nostalgia" for boybands and tamogachis but with a budget instead of 2000s north america. You wanna know what was fucking BIG in the early 2000s? Pokemon, digimon, monster rancher. Games with fucking big fucking wacky cartoon animals like the fucking panda the movie
s based around. The more I think about the movie the more I realize how fucking unrealistic it is by this factor alone. An obnoxiously energetic kid that likes boybands and vidya and other stereotypical 2000s shit gains the ability to turn into what is essentially a real life equialent of the video game creatures from around that time and they immediately try to hide it and get all "oh noooOOOOO!" about it? Unrealistic, ruined forever. Any kid that'd have that shit happen to them would probably hide it from their parents but immediately go to their friends "YO CHECK THIS SHIT OUT I'M POKEMON BUTIN REAL LIFE HAHAAA" instead of crying in the corner and hiding from everyone.
