Because it's a specific term used to describe the tenets espoused by modern corporatist cults that are designed to loosely mimic "progressive" values, but which have been cynically re-engineered to serve as a tool to exert and maintain social control and provide a sense of purpose in a secular era where the dissolution of organized religion has left a moral and spiritual vacuum.

Everyone gets mad and starts shooting when we call Zimbabwe Rhodesia, why would we intentionally start a debate about etymology and history when it won't provide lulz?

Thanks everyone, I’m genuinely curious because I used to see it here and there over the years, but now I see it A Lot in clickbait articles geared towards a certain sector. Let’s call it the ‘white (not-so)working class’ for convenience sake. I don’t have a problem with what it’s supposed to signify, just the idea that it’s a word used to trigger vulnerable undereducated people into further divisiveness.
Basically I find it sad.
