Why do SJWs focus on "identity" and power?

It's called Maoism. It's essentially keeping people fighting each other so they can't unite against oppression. It turns people into Useful Idiots. What's happening right now has happened before in history, just quicker and easier due to the Internet and widespread corruption. They've turned a large chunk of social media into struggle sessions.

Narcissism.

I don't just mean that in the dismissive Boomer sense of the term, I mean your average SJW is someone who never quite finished a crucial step in maturation from the teenager stage. "Identity" is me. Me me me. It can only relate to things through the lens of Me. We live in the era of therapy and Live Your Truth and Practice Self-Care, and I think there's a danger in over-preaching that to someone who, at the end of the day, already unhealthily puts themselves first. All of this gender shit is Tumblr headmates and "multiple personalities" writ large. "Nonbinary" is just the next stage of the stupid shit teenagers do. "I am above, I am beyond, I cannot be contained, I cannot be classified, I am the beginning and end, there are no words fabulous enough to describe me" is the core thrust of this whole thing.

It's the thrashing of someone who's stuck at 15.

Narcissism is a key component, too. Part of the cultural indoctrination occurring is the mainstreaming of Therapy Language, to the point where children now use the jargon the poster above mentioned. This culture now breeds neuroses, and they are often displayed and bragged. Zoomers have been conditioned to define themselves by their problems, and expect the world to accommodate them.

They're pretty much taught that they're intertwined and dominating one will lead to absolute control in the other. They think that uncovering and identifying the "systems" of power will allow them the ways to control these and then direct them towards their utopian ends. Since they're generally narcissists and/or stupid they fail to understand they rarely uncover and identify anything but their own psychological projection and delusional conspiracy theories.

A lot of this was all baked into Marxism and its subsequent spin-offs from the start and all they do is just fiddle with the labels. The "marginalized" and "oppressor" are just the proletariat and capitalists relabeled. And everything always leads to a grand showdown between the Good Guys and the Bad Guys in which the Good Guys win because of their good intentions, completely eliminating the Bad Guys and an endless utopia immediately begins. You know, just like in our animes.

They focus on what they don't have.

No one with a firm sense of identity and self-worth obsesses over their genitals/who they wish to fuck. And while there's a valid claim to be made that SJWs as a whole have a fair amount of power in clown world, the loud complainers don't - or nowhere near enough for their liking.

Basically it goes back to SJWism/wokeism's origins in cultural Marxism, which was created by an Italian communist named Antonio Gramsci in the 1920s after the predicted communist revolutions post-World War failed to pop off outside of the Soviet Union which wasn't the utopia Marx predicted and therefore challenged the faith of many Marxists. Gramsci focused more on culture which led directly in the 1950s to the Frankfurt School, who pioneered many of the current sorts of cultural Marxist discourse. But the Frankfurt School were still wholly wedded to Marxism, which meant they had a modernist and science-based (scientific socialism) outlook.

Naturally there had to be a postmodern version of the Frankfurt School which popped off in the 1960s with the New Left. This is were you get communists like Michel Foucault in the mix. What happened here is that "class" became irrelevant to Marxism compared to "power", and "power" was easily translated into whatever you wanted it to be. In the 1960s, the big one was "race", so these post-Marxists classified the black person (or in Foucault's case, the colonized person, like the Tunisian boys he had sex with) as the proletariat and the white person (or the colonizer) as the capitalist oppressor. Works with gender too, like with women or nowadays transgenders vs the male or cisgender oppressors.

Unlike Marxism, which is inherently problematic to the Western establishment because it involves revolutions and taking shit from rich people, this sort of cultural Marxism gives all the benefits of Marxism like a big government and the ability to cast people out for wrongthink without any of the side effects like getting your property redistributed to the plebs. After all, a billionaire like Oprah Winfrey is more oppressed than an unemployed dude in West Virginia living in a leaky trailer dying of black lung, since she's both black AND a woman. This system did face a lot of early obstacles in the 70s and 80s, but by the 90s it started creeping in from academia and by the 2010s it was actively being promoted to stave off the need for the system to change in ways that didn't benefit the banks.

Cause they are important and matter, which is not even a controversial statement, all it takes is reading through history, and it's filled with an endless pursuit of power, and identity struggles between various tribes and religions.
Neglecting power and dismissing identity, as muddy as a concept that it is, will result in you being enslaved by people with a lust for power and a very heightened sense of tribal identity.
Choose wisely.

The Cult of Progress primary fixation on "identity" (and "power") can be answered with 3 arguments:

1: People are different (there's different races, different sexes, different abilities, and so on).

2: "Identity" is not a collective (SJWs seem to treat all of a kind "community" as being the same).

3: "Identity" is not holy (SJWs more or less treat they deemed as "marginalized groups" as sacred).

example: "you know i think it's suthper fucked up that the LGBT community doesn't get enough jobs in the workforce. it must mean they hate gay people, and we are more than just a sexuality." while in the same breath saying "as a genderfluid black trans autistic panda bear, i believe I should have rights too"

Because having power over others and their own narcissistic identity are the only two things they truly believe.
Everything else is theatrics in order to fool and gas light either you or everyone around you into doing their bidding or believing the lie that they are good people.
