Why do you, personally, follow Lolcows?

Why do you follow lolcows?

What do you get from it?

Do you consider how this may effect others?

First post. Long time lurks. I find some of the regular farmers here, in some ways, more interesting with how obsessed they can be with particular lolcows.

The closest I get from them is inspiration to make stories of some sort

I don't follow the lolcow stuff too closely.
Although, the cultcow stuff is interesting to me, I guess just for the psychological aspect.

I am fascinated by insane people, but I haven't come across someone that's so captivating that I follow them closely for more than a couple of days. I'll find my cow one day.

Edit : I will add, the way that genuinely good OP's are maintained (and expected) across the board, that's not something I see often. Even a lot of the off topic threads are put together surprisingly well.

It makes me feel comparatively good about my life choices, a bit like daytime TV but for the internet generation.

Also I think I was meant to be an anthropologist. Lolcow observation satisfies that fascination with human weirdness.

An escape from the horrors of reality by laughing at the horrors of other peoples reality. Though admittedly most of the lolcows I follow actually genuinely piss me off, I love reading the comments people make because they're funny and help me get through my day.

It's like their entire lives revolve around acting retarded and being un-self-aware - and doing it on the internet where everyone can see it.

99% of the lolcows post their entire life online and you expect me to ignore it???. It's like seeing a accident on the road, yes people are dead, cars are burning but you cant help to look at it.
