Why do you think God exists?

Nothing explained by invoking an omnipotent supernatural deity is "elegant". It immediately creates an infinitely bigger, more complicated question that anything you could've possibly hoped to explain with its existence.
. My point is that it’s not a gotcha. evolution is often presented as disproving the existence of God, when in fact it’s no such thing

I see no issue with the idea of evolved life and God. It’s an elegant mechanism - set up a world, which changes. Start off life, give it a way it can change with it. Poke here and there. Voilà.
I don't really disagree, it still makes a lot more sense than any alternative explanation. The only room for argument in my opinion is regarding the nature or source of the element of design, not if there was one.

Acts of human kindness and empathy that have no explanation in evolution.

The universe is one of those annoying sliding puzzles with one piece missing. Whatever God is, that's the missing piece.

Nothing exists outside of consciousness

No reason to assume I’m unique (probably has its own name, but like the cosmological principle)

Implies other things have consciousness and coexist in some fashion, which requires some kind of connection between them

Where did it come from?

Consciousness in humans is epiphenomena of brain activity, so probably spawns in when new life is created

Consciousness is a flow, not something that can exist in discrete moments (see how anesthesia skips time instead of passing it), implies to me that it cannot be bounded with a beginning or end other than the beginning of time

So consciousness would likely work as a branching flow, like a river watershed in reverse, or a tree that is growing. Each things consciousness is a branch off of whatever it came from and the trunk is God/the consciousness of the universe in its entirety.

Why not?
Nothing exists outside of consciousness
Wrong.

I like this idea but humor me for a moment. The human is the most complex iteration of the impulse of a molecule to replicate, right? Perhaps consciousness at 'human level' is just that molecule finally able to analyze why it ever bothered in the first place?

That thing's not God but I get why people think it is, I'm pretty sure it's the same thing people are tapping into when taking shit like DMT, psilocybin, etc. But I think that specifically is the 'thing' in living things, from single-celled organisms to us that drives us to replicate.
