Idk, have you checked with a doctor? I know a lot about medicine and I'm pretty sure the brain stem is kind of like your appendix where nobody is 100% sure why it's there and if it's bothering you you can just go get it taken out without a problem.
It's not real common in the west anymore because our oppressive government wants the citizenry to suffer, but if you get a bunch of money and head overseas to say maybe Southeast Asia the doctors are much more compassionate and qualified and they'll probably take that brain stem right out for you.
