Why does the movie "Se7en" fucking suck so hard?

funny you make this thread now I actually recently (not even a week ago) watched se7en for the first time and i thought it was all right, I saw not much wrong with the acting but I do agree with you on brad pitt being A shitty actor and bringing down the movie simply by existing as he is only able to play the part of "cool guy with cigarette leaning against wall", it works very well in A movie like fightclub where thats the only role he has to play but as soon as you give him any other emotion besides mr cool his part falls flat and that is blatantly obvious in se7en.
In spite of this I thought the movie was good tho the ending could have been better since i feel john doe's envy wasnt foreshadowed before this and because of this it comes out as disingenuous which would ruin the whole point of his game as he wasnt truly being punished for sin, he simply goaded wrath into killing him for murdering his wife instead of being A lesson on envy.

Also this, the gore and obscenitys are overstated and understated far too often that it comes off as having no real meaning and just being there for shock value instead of making a point.

I didn't "get" Fight Club. Several people would tell me it's a good movie and some even claimed it was one of their all-time favorites, but I don't remember being all that delighted by it. I can't even remember what it was about and I'm usually good at remembering storylines.
