Honestly the reason why the world is quite the shitshow how is just because of how deep the leftist propaganda goes. In the 1960's with the sexual revolution and gay rights. Keep in mind, every professional media outlet you read has every financial incentive to seek out and present the world in it's most disastrous and absurd state. Crime in western nations are the lowest they've been in decades, there's less proxy-wars going on in the world, minor rebellions and civil wars are becoming less frequent than they were in the 60s and 70s

And even back then, the state of constant proxy-conflicts during the cold war was a huge improvement over first-world nations fighting each other (aka the world wars). And before that European countries went to war every couple years as an aristocratic sport.

The craziest shit is behind us, I don't think there will ever come a time when tens of millions of chinese people will starve to death because the government convinced them to melt their farming tools down into scrap iron to meet an arbitrary quota. Even the worst places on earth have gotten a lot better.
