Are same sec parent households optimal for child rearing? No I don’t think they are.
Children benefit from a mother and a father. I do agree that on average mother and father input is subtly different. I don’t think men are less capable of loving a child, but they do it differently. A mother and father is optimal. Can children be raised by a different Combo? (aunt, grandparents) and be well raised? Yes for sure, but the optimum is a loving mother and father and an extended family if possible.
