where did the genes for bad eye sight and narrow vaginal canals come from? After 100,000 years of natural selection they still weren't eliminated? Or is it like Palpatine in the new Star Wars movie?
Natural selection basically takes non-reproductive conducive genes. Certain things that don't really matter to reproductive success are not counted.
It's basically why people have body variances and differences in things that are non-life threatening or to where they can still reproduce.
For example some women have a tilted uterus, this can make conception more difficult but it doesn't mean it's impossible, so therefore it has not been selected out.
Even very debilitating things like certain mental illnesses like schizophrenia doesn't mean that you can't have sex and have a baby, even if you might be better off not doing that....
However there's no adult people with hydrocephaly who are reproducing with that Gene. Or certain other retardations or sexual disordera where it's literally impossible. It's a dead end on the line.
