They are objectively not both bad. Trying to fix deviant or disturbing behavior or patterns of thinking is equivalent to psychiatry or medical care. You can criticise the methods used but not the intent or the practice itself. Mutilating a child to play along with gender delusion is child abuse and medical malpractice in all cases. They are not the same and no amount of literary tricks will make them equivalent.
