Geothermal is dependent on where you are exactly because it's not always easy to get down to that heat. If you're in a seismically-active area (especially one with a past history of volcanism) you're looking good, otherwise you're SOL with current technology.

There was something pretty similar to that wind turbine in use already but it generated power by wiggling in waves rather than the wind.
